What’s my sense of belonging to Islam – #8

Abu Huraira (ra) reported: Rasoolullahﷺ said: Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives except that Allahﷻ‎ increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allahﷻ‎ except that Allahﷻ‎ raises his status.

Abdullah ibn Amr (ra) reported: Rasoolullahﷺ was upon the minbar and he said: Be merciful to others and you will receive mercy. Forgive others and Allahﷻ‎ will forgive you.

Abu Abdullah Al-Khadali (ra) reported: I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the character of Rasoolullahﷺ Aisha said: Rasoolullahﷺ was never indecent, he was never obscene, he would never shout in the markets, and he would never respond to an evil deed with an evil deed, but rather he would pardon and overlook.

Uqbah ibn Amir (ra) reported: Rasoolullahﷺ said: O Uqbah, reconcile whoever cuts you off, give to whoever deprives you, and pardon whoever wrongs you.

Anas ibn Malik (ra) reported: I never saw a case involving legal retaliation being referred to Rasoolullahﷺ except that he would recommend pardoning the criminal.

Anas ibn Malik (ra) reported: A man came to Rasoolullahﷺ with the killer of his relative.

Rasoolullahﷺ said, Pardon him. But the man refused.

Rasoolullahﷺ said, Take blood money. But the man refused.

Rasoolullahﷺ said, Then go and kill him, for you are like him.

Anas said: So the man let him go.

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: Rasoolullahﷺ said: Verily, it is better for the leader to make a mistake forgiving the criminal than it is for him to make a mistake punishing the innocent.

Abdullah ibn Umar (ra) reported: A man came to Rasoolullahﷺ and he said, “Ya Rasoolullahﷺ how many times should I pardon my servant?”

Rasoolullahﷺ said: Seventy times in each day.
