Alhamdulillah, we’re looking at the incident of Ibrahim Alayhi Salaam’s life where he left on the command of Allah SWT.
He took his wife and their son and left them in the valley of Bakka and turned around and left.
And then he made this dua.
The first lesson from this incident that we learn is that of prioritizing the command of Allah SWT over any and everything else.
To obey Allah SWT in every situation, whether we understand the command or not, whether we like the command or not.
This command of Allah SWT to Ibrahim Alayhi Salaam.
To take his wife and son, newborn son and leave them in this place.
Is neither something that one can understand.
And obviously it is not something that one can like.
But he did it.
Now this comes from a deep and unshakable belief.
That what Allah SWT commands comes from a place of love that he has for his creatures.
That it is a mark of his continuing and ongoing concern for their well-being.
And that what he says is best for us.
It comes from acknowledging and accepting the truth that Allah knows and I and we do not know.
Allah SWT said,
And there’s no more شئ مفضلتاتِ عَلِيهِ حَ!!!
Or what you add to your knowledge.
So Allah SWT says,
Andaining Nemseni.
And many people express anger-swearing.
Likeая شاركت ان امان ايام اشئ اللذي اذا %.
What I have been learning is that I know the遺welings that they have and those things they have.
I won’t name the school, yesterday.
And the person who picked me up from my house was a DARE officer.
These are retired police officers who are working in this department called DARE,
which stands for the people who work against drug addiction.
And he’s working in the school.
This is a middle school.
So children of 10 to 12,
and from there, you know, maybe say between 10 to 12 to 16 or 10 to 16.
So I said, you have cases of addiction?
He said, it’s not even a question of cases.
He said, it’s a problem enough for me to have a full-time job here.
I mean, I’m not talking about some, you know, sort of,
you know, sort of,
city or city center school or some school in some sort of badlands.
This is a big, very well-known school.
And he tells me, we have cases of eight-year-olds vaping,
smoking cigarettes and vaping.
Please understand, smoking, vaping, all of this is haram in Islam.
And when something is haram in Islam, doing it is haram,
buying it is haram, selling it is haram,
manufacturing it is haram, and there’s a reason why it is haram.
This is the state of where we are.
So if Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says something is haram,
there is a reason for that.
And Allah says, you like something,
you like something which is harmful for you.
You like something that will put you into trouble in this dunya and akhira.
Imagine you have a business doing this.
You’re buying it, you’re selling it, you’re raising your children on it.
And then you die.
And then you stand before Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
And then, what are you going to say?
What will you say?
Think about this.
Think about this because the time will come
when you will not be able to think about this.
And the reason you will not be able to think about this
is because you will be dead.
Think about that before this, before that time comes.
That is when you will be dead.
And this is the reason why I’m telling you this.
This is the essence of tawakkul.
This is the essence of tawakkul to trust Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
And this is the reason, the basis of Ithbinaal ul Qalb.
Peace of mind.
A total trust on Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala,
which results in peace of mind and tranquility of the heart.
And this is based on our understanding of His glory and majesty and power.
And trust that when we open our hearts,
we will be able to see the truth.
And when we obey Him, He will protect us and support us.
And that He will take care of us.
That’s why my addiction to nature and nature photography.
Because I go out in the world, I take photographs and ask myself,
this is my Rabb.
This is my Rabb who feeds a black-capped chickadee,
which is smaller than a sparrow.
In the middle of winter, when there’s two feet of snow on the ground,
and there’s no way this bird can get anything to eat.
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala protects it.
It survives that winter.
And the temperatures are, I still have Celsius in my head.
So I say minus 20, go walk out the Fahrenheit of that.
If I go out without heavy protective clothing,
I will die in 10 minutes.
And that bird is out there.
This is my Rabb.
And I believe that my Rabb is the one who protects me.
And I believe that my Rabb cannot feed me unless I do haram.
What kind of Iman is this?
What kind of Iman is this?
Are you really worshipping some Rabb who is so weak and poor
that He cannot feed you unless you do haram?
La haluna khutai dhalil.
So put ourselves in the position of Iman alayhi salam.
And ask,
if we had been there and before that,
thank Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala that He does not test us like He tested His ambiya.
What would we have asked for?
If I take my wife and infant son and put him in a place where there is nothing,
what is the number one, what’s the first thing you would ask for?
If I take my wife and infant son and put him in a place where there is nothing,
what would we ask for?
If I take my son and wife to día 305
the day before,
where God gave us lifeaci можем

that they may establish Salah. So make the hearts of people inclined towards them and
provide them with fruits so they would be thankful. First of all see the adab and respect
and reverence with which he addresses Allah and talks about the situation in which
he is seeking Allah’s help. He says, Rabbana inni askant. He says, O our
Rabb, I have settled these people. He does not say, Allah, you only told me to bring
them here. So now look after them. I am doing it because if you didn’t tell me I was not
coming here. He is not saying, he says, I have sent, brought them here. He takes it
on himself and he goes to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala as someone in dire need. Ya Allah,
I am a beggar. I am your slave. Ya Allah, help me because only you can help me. Now
this is Ibraheem Ali Salam’s story.
He never ascribes to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala anything that is difficult or painful, though
he knows that nothing happens without the will of Allah. For example in famous ayat
in Surah Ash-Shuura, Ibn Ahmad Ali Salam says, they are asking who is Allah and he is saying,
Alladhi khalaqani fahuwa yahdeen, walladhi huwa yut’aimuni wayuskeen, wa idha marittu fahuwa
yashfeen.
Alladhi yumeetuni thumma yuhyeen, walladhi atma’uan yaghfirali khateeati yawmad deen,
waja’alli lisaana sidqin fil aakhireen, waja’alni min warathati jannatin na’eem.
Now he is describing Allah. He is introducing Allah to people. See how he says it. He says,
He Jalla Jalaluhu, He is the one who created me.
He alone guides me. He is the one who feeds me. He is the one who gives me to drink. And
when I fall sick, He cures me. He does not say He gives me sickness, then He gives me
the cure. Where is sickness coming from? From Ali, there is no other source. From Allah.
He doesn’t say that. He says, when I get sick He cures me.
He does not say that. He says, when I get sick, He cures me.
Waja’alni min warathati jannatin na’eem.
He is the one who will cause me to die
And then bring me back to life
And he is the one who I hope
He is not saying he is the one who will forgive me
No, he is the one who I hope will forgive me
He will forgive my flaws on the day of judgment
My Rabb grant me wisdom and join me with the righteous
Bless me with honorable mention among later generations
And make me one of those awarded the garden of bliss
See the power of the dua
He says make people remember me with honor
Ibrahim A.S. lived about 4000 years ago
He is standing here
And taking his name with honor
A.S.
Now this dua which he made
For his
For his
Wife and son
He asked for three things
As I told you
Think about what would you ask
Three things he is asking for
First thing he says
I have settled them in this barren valley
So that they may establish salah
Here is the purpose
And he says
Thereby give them influence and leadership
Incline the hearts of people towards them
And then provide them with tership
Benefits
So he asked for a buffalo
And given them benefits
It’s not saying give them bread and water
No fruits
Frieds
Breads and water is assumed
Provide them with tertiary benefits
What strikes me first and foremost is
He did not even ask for safety for his family
he didn’t say Allah protect them
There is nothing in the dua to protect them
Which is the first thing you would say
Allah protect them
Is your if there’s some animal eating them or
Animal eats them or something, they are gone.
No.
Because safety for him is a given.
Because his action is because of the command of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
So if I am doing what Allah commanded me to do, I have to be safe.
I have to be protected.
What is there to ask?
So I ask for something more than that.
And that is why if you see, we know the Safa Barwa story and so on and so forth.
And then we know that the tribe of Jorhum came there.
Imagine this is 4,000 years ago.
Right?
This tribe of Jorhum, they got kicked out of Yemen by people stronger than them.
It’s a huge tribe.
And they come there.
And what do they see?
They see a spring of water, which is Zamzam by then.
Zamzam has come.
And they see a single woman with a baby.
That’s it.
Who is coming there?
This big tribe of Arabs.
So the way these caravans would travel, they would be, these are all highly militarized people.
They are the drop of a hat.
They can fight a war.
So all of them are armed.
They’re led by, they would be led by their big sheikh, whoever it is.
They want the water.
So what is, in the normal course of things, what would happen?
I come there.
There is water.
I want the water.
I take the water.
Right?
Two plus two makes four, right?
What do they do?
They go and ask.
Can we have access to?
Can you?
I mean, when you read this story, you think about that.
How completely out of norm such a story is.
But Allah is telling us the story, so it can’t be, it’s not false.
This is the dua of Ibrahim alayhi salam.
He said, Allah put, incline the hearts of people.
Give my wife and son influence.
So Allah gives this lone woman influence over a huge big,
huge tribe.
He says, yes, you can use the water, but the water belongs to us,
me and my son.
So you are using it with our permission.
They said, I accept it.
The novel circumstances, they would have taken the water.
It’s because it’s a, if it was a man, they would have killed him.
A woman, the chief would have taken her as his wife, or he would have given
it, given her to one of his soldiers.
The child goes with the mother.
Khalas.
That is how systems work.
That is not how this system works.
In this system, they coming and asking permission.
She gives permission.
They use the water at her permission with her permission.
Allah said, give influence.
And then they adopt them.
And Ibrahim alayhi salam, he inspired, salam becomes one of their leaders.
They, when he grows up, they give him one wife.
When he divorces that wife, they give one other wife.
Huh?
The whole tribe.
Uh, he’s.
The leader.
And all because.
He was like, where is Salam and his wife, Hajar is Salam.
And later on, when he grew up, he’s by his salam.
They followed the orders of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
They gave the orders of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala precedence over everything else,
including what they would have understood to be their own safety and wellbeing and
so on and so on.
And Ibrahim alayhi salam said, let me be remembered in honor.
What does Allah do?
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala takes this whole incident and plus another one, which we will talk about next Juma, which is the incident of the, of the Qurbani of the Udaya, the Hadith.
Allah takes this entire story and makes it the greatest of Ibadat, the Hajj.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
The Hajj is a reenactment of the story of Ibrahim and Hajar and Ismail .
That’s it.
They did it for a reason.
We did it because they didn’t.
They are our reason.
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala made the rituals of Hajj.
The actions of Ibrahim and Ismail and Hajar .
Yeah,
And Allah said, if you do this, I will forgive all your sins.
I ask Allah to grant those who have not done Hajj, please do Hajj.
Rasool Allah said, the one who is capable and able to do Hajj and does not do it and
dies will be resurrected with the disbelievers.
So please, if you have not done Hajj, do Hajj.
Make this your number one priority.
If you can go this year, go this year.
If you can’t go this year, make the year, go next year.
We ask Allah to enable us to do Hajj, to complete this Fareeda and then to do it as many times
as Allah enables us to do.
We ask Allah to accept our prayers.
We ask Allah to make us among those who are obedient to Him and who serve Him.
We ask Allah to make us live and give us Rizq which is Halal and to take us in a state where
we are dying.
In a state of complete resurrection.
In a state of complete obedience to Allah SWT.
May Allah grant us all the blessings of the Day of Resurrection.
May Allah grant us all the blessings of the Day of Resurrection.
