Questions for DOJ – 1

Auto-generated transcript:

We spoke about the three questions of the grave.
And as I mentioned to you, the three questions of the grave have to do with our creed, our
belief.
What do we believe?
So the first question is about Allah.
The second question is about the whole Deen.
And the third question is about Rasulullah .
Alhamdulillah, may Allah make it easy for us to pass this test because this is a test
that is not voluntary, it is compulsory.
Everyone who is born, everyone who lived will die and when they die, they will have to pass
this test.
And then we go to the Day of Judgement and there there are four questions.
And we know from the Hadith of Rasulullah .
And the meaning of which is he said that the feet of the Banu Adam, the children of Adab
al-Israab will not be able to move from before their Rabb until they answer four questions.
And the first of those questions is, what did you do with the time that I gave you?
What did you do with the time that I gave you?
The second question is, how did you spend your youth?
So even in time, all time is not equal.
How did you spend your youth?
And third question is, what did you do with the knowledge that I gave you?
And the fourth one is a two in one question.
Where did you earn your wealth from?
Where did you earn your wealth from?
And where did you spend it?
So the first question has to do with life, with time.
The second question has to do with youths, because youth is the time when you have maximum
desire.
You also have the maximum ability to fulfill the desires.
You have the strength, you have the power and so on.
Third question has to do with knowledge.
And the fourth question has to do with earnings.
So let us look at each of these.
We look at one today.
That is the question with regard to time.
So I ask you to think about it.
What will we answer to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala?
If Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala says, what did you do with your time?
What is the answer?
If you take social media alone.
You will find that.
You will find that.
You will find that.
Why?
Because statistics tell us that the average person, the average person in this country
spends up to six hours per day scrolling their phones.
Whatever it is, whether it’s Facebook or Tailbook or Mohina, whatever, six hours a day.
So, the question is that what will we answer?
Allah says, what did you lose the time?
People say time is money.
But just think about that.
Supposing you lose $100.
And it doesn’t have to be $100.
If you lose $20, you will feel it.
I mean, it won’t kill you, obviously, but say my $20 went somewhere.
There’s some awareness, some sense of loss.
I lost $20.
And of course, if you lose more, then the sense of loss is more.
But what about if you lose 30 minutes?
It won’t even register anywhere.
Although, if you think about that, money is replaceable.
You lose it today when you can get it back tomorrow and so on.
But time?
Once gone, it’s gone.
It doesn’t come back.
It doesn’t come back.
You can’t buy it somewhere.
You cannot generate it.
You can’t say, I will make some time like I’m making cryptocurrency or something.
No.
So, how aware are we of that?
Now, the solution is
to create a system.
Create structure in your life.
Structure is the secret of productivity.
And that structure is structure if it is followed strictly.
That is very important.
Because today, nowadays, what’s happened is that people have, thanks to apps,
you have an app for everything.
You name it.
Somebody has made an app for it.
So, you’ve got time apps.
You’ve got, you know, food apps.
You’ve got exercise apps.
You’ve got all kinds of stuff.
So, you say, I’ve got this app on my phone and I’m going to,
it will tell me, you know, how the day is being spent.
Question is, do you follow that?
So, you don’t need any app.
Forget about apps.
What I advise is just take a plain sheet of paper, a notebook,
and do two things.
One is,
every night,
think about the coming day, tomorrow,
and say, what are the three most critical things that I need to do tomorrow?
Three most important things.
Don’t go to sleep until you write it.
And write this down.
Take a sheet of paper.
Write down.
Number one, number two.
Three most important things that I must do tomorrow.
Now, when you say three most important,
how will you know which is most important?
For that, your own goal should be clear.
What is my goal for the day?
What is my goal for the month?
What is my life goal?
This should be clear.
Without knowing the goal,
how do you, you cannot prioritize.
You cannot say what is more important, less important,
if you don’t know the goal.
Importance is based on the goal.
Your goal for the day, goal for the month,
goal for, make it for the week if you like,
but goal for your life.
Based on that goal,
what are the three most important things that I must accomplish tomorrow?
And then at the end of the day,
before you go to bed,
you do an assessment.
And say, I have started my day today by saying,
I have to do, I must do three things.
What happened?
Did I complete all three?
Did I do?
Did I do?
Did I do?
Did I do?
Did I do?
Did I do?
Did I do?
Did I do?
Did I do?
Did I do?
Only two?
Only one?
Nothing?
More?
Less?
And then also if possible,
write down what is it that helped me
and what is it that hindered me.
Right?
System.
You do that and you see how productive your life will become.
Never ever open your eyes without having a structure
structure of what you will do that day. Very important. So from the previous day and then
write it. These are things which I strongly advise you do not use apps, don’t use a phone,
write with your hand on paper, pen and paper. The benefit of that also is that you can also
after some time you can leave back and say how did I progress, is my day, my time becoming
more productive, less productive, what am I doing and you will catch yourself to say these are
something that was changed. Right? So structure your time and then in that time I always give this
formula to everybody. Start your day with the hajj. Wake up one hour before the time for
Salatul Fajr starts. So now it’s starting around 3 30 wake up at 2 30. Pray the hajj.
Two, four, six, eight, whatever Allah gives you, at least pray two.
And then read one juice of Quran. Right? The Quran, the Daur of the Quran, doesn’t matter what other
khajifas you are praying, if the Daur of the Quran is not in your life,
then your life is empty. And the Daur of the Quran, the minimum Daur of the Quran is one
khatmah per month. So if you read one juice per day, you will finish one Quran in every month.
So 12 months in the year you would have finished 12 Qurans, Alhamdulillah. And then in Ramadan you
will listen to one Quran in the Tarawih. So that is 13. And then maybe things like like this last
10 days of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah. If Allah gives tawfiq, finish one Quran in that one,
in those 10 days. So 14. Last 10 days of?
Ramadan. Right? Make itikaf, finish two, three, whatever you can finish. So totally in the year
you would have read the Quran 12, 13, 14, 15 times. Even if you never become a habit of the Quran,
the Quran will become very familiar for you. Right? So start your day like this. Tahajjud,
one juice of Quran,
then go to the masjid for Salatul Fajr. And the previous night you would have prayed Salatul Isha
also by Jama’ah, InshaAllah. So you get the reward for praying the whole night because
Nabi said, the one who prays Salatul Isha by Jama’ah has got the reward for praying half the
night and the one who prays Salatul Fajr by Jama’ah, he gets the reward for the other half.
So you get the reward for praying whole night. Plus you’ve got Tahajjud,
plus you’ve got one juice of Quran and then your day starts. Imagine how beautiful that is.
And then in the day, make sure that you set time aside for exercise.
The simplest exercise, the best exercise will cost you nothing, zero, is walking.
Running and jogging is in long term, short term is fine but long term it is damaging on the knees.
So I don’t recommend that. Walking.
Try to get 10,000 feet of walking.
10,000 steps per day. Every day, 10,000 steps, that’s five miles. Make sure you do that much.
Right? It will take you, depending on the speed that you walk,
it will take you maybe one hour, maybe one hour and 15 minutes, not more than that. Five miles.
Get this into your system. This improves your blood flow, it improves your digestion,
it improves your heart, health of your heart. Right?
Do the sameOnce definitely improve the rack, every day.
But every weekähltif you have diabetes, if you have diabetes or something, it brings your sugar down.
All kinds of phenomenal benefits. Physical excess. And then of course, do your work, whatever. You’re working somewhere, you have a shop,
you are writing, reading, that’s fine. But this routine, make this into your daily routine.
And this must not change, no matter what happens. Yeah, you see, now it is Ramadan so faya khayf I keep doing it.
Your daily routine of going for a picnic. You can come for a picnic if you want to and if you don’t want to you just keep going for a few days. If you don’t yourself track your diet, if you don’t have much information, you know. If you don’t keep your diet, you know that’s not a issue .
so if I can’t go for a walk, I’ll get dehydrated.
No, no, no.
Nothing.
No matter what, as long as you’re not sick.
If you’re sick, of course.
But if you’re not sick, this routine must not change.
Whether it is Ramadan, whether it is anything,
you’re fasting, not fasting.
Daily routine must continue no matter what.
Right?
Then you see how beautiful and productive your life will become.
We ask Allah to help us to lead lives which are productive.
We ask Allah to give us focus so that we are focused on our goals.
We ask Allah to help us to achieve those goals.
We ask Allah to help us to put metrics on those goals
so we can measure our progress.
And we ask Allah to reward us in keeping with His Majesty and Grace.
And may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon the Prophet and his family and his family.
By the mercy of Allah.
