Enter Islam completely

Auto-generated transcript:

My brothers and sisters, Allah SWT addressed us, addressed the believers.
And he said, which means, he actually said,
Allah SWT said,
O you who believe.
So first thing to think about and reflect on is Allah is addressing the believers.
So Allah is not saying you don’t believe.
Allah is not addressing the Mushrikeen and the Kuffar and this one and that one.
People don’t believe.
No, Allah is saying,
O you who believe.
Number one.
Number two, any ayat which begins with,
We know that this is a hukum of Allah.
Whatever comes after that is the command.
Therefore, it must be obeyed.
So what is the command?
Allah says,
Enter into Islam completely.
Now think about that.
This is the believers.
And remember, the ayat did not come for you and me.
When the ayat came, who are the believers there?
It’s Abu Bakr and Omar and Osman and Ali and Talha and Zubair.
All the Sahaba of Rasulullah SAW.
These are the best of the best.
The first generation, the best generation, the people who learned Islam at the feet of the Prophet.
Allah is addressing them and saying,
Enter into Islam fully and completely.
Right?
So therefore, the first thing we understand is that simply saying,
My name is Abdul Rahman or saying that,
I say to Allah,
There is no God but Allah.
I say to Muhammad Rasulullah.
Or saying that my father and grandfather and great grandfather,
What not, I’m a born Muslim.
None of this matters.
Islam is about me.
Islam is about you individually as a person.
It doesn’t matter who your father, grandfather was.
Because if you look at the Sahaba,
The first generation,
Every single one,
One of them was a convert.
Every one of them was a revert.
It’s only Abdul Abid Zubair and the others.
Radha Allah anhu.
Radha Allah anhum.
And then, of course,
The grandchildren of Rasulullah SAW.
These were the people who were born into Islam.
Because both Sayyidah Fatima and Sayyidah Ali were Muslim.
And Abdul Abid Zubair,
His father Zubair bin Awam and his mother Asma bin Abi Bakr.
They were Muslim.
But other than that,
The first generation,
The first generation who came,
There was nobody.
I mean, every single one of them was a revert.
So it doesn’t matter whether my ancestors and my extended family,
Whether they are Muslim, non-Muslim.
What matters is me.
So I need to look at myself.
You need to look at yourself and say,
Have I entered completely into Islam as Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala wishes me to do?
As Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala commanded me to do?
Right?
So that’s the first question to ask yourself.
Then Allah continued in the ayah.
Allah said,
See the beauty of the,
The Bayan of the Quran.
Allah said,
Allah did not say don’t follow shaytan.
Allah did not say don’t go,
Don’t go with shaytan.
Allah said don’t follow the footsteps of shaytan.
Khutuwat.
Now,
What is the meaning of saying don’t follow footsteps?
When you’re talking about footsteps,
What are you looking at there?
Small to the big.
Eh?
Small to the big.
Small to the big.
Okay.
What else?
The path.
Paths, actions.
No, just physically.
If I say,
Hudaifah is there, right?
So supposing I tell you don’t follow Hudaifah’s,
Don’t follow Hudaifah.
That’s one thing.
Don’t go with Hudaifah is one thing.
Don’t follow his footsteps means,
Where is Hudaifah?
Is he there?
The same direction.
He’s going.
Is he physically there?
No, he’s not.
Exactly.
The first thing,
First thing to understand is the only time you’re going to say,
Don’t follow the footsteps of so and so,
Is when the person himself is not there.
If the person is there,
You won’t say don’t follow.
You’ll say don’t follow him.
You won’t say,
You won’t talk about footsteps.
Here’s the guy in front of you.
Follow him.
Don’t follow him.
Whatever.
Right?
But the moment you’re saying don’t follow footsteps means,
That the person is not there.
Now,
What does it mean?
Therefore,
If I follow the footsteps of Shaitaan,
Whose responsibility is it?
Yours.
Shaitaan is not even there.
I can’t say he took me.
He did.
He is not there.
How is he?
Right?
His footsteps.
I chose and I decided that I wanted to follow the footsteps of Shaitaan.
And I chose to do that when Allah told me don’t do it.
Just imagine how serious is this matter.
La tatabbu qutwa di Shaitaan.
Then Allah confirms and He says,
Truly, Shaitaan is your worst enemy.
Adaw mubeen.
He is an open enemy.
Not hidden.
He is not coming out of nowhere.
We know who Shaitaan is.
We know what he represents.
We know what he represents.
Right?
Now, today,
May Allah have mercy on all of us.
If you look at the problem,
The general problem of the Muslims.
Right?
It is not that we,
May Allah have mercy,
It is not that we have become atheist,
Or we deny Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala,
Or we deliberately go and do something which we know to be,
No.
We also come and do something which we know to be,
We also come and pray.
We also have beards.
We also have hijabs.
We also fast in Ramadan.
We also go for Amra or go for Hajj and so on.
But at the same time,
We also deal in interest.
We also sell cigarettes.
We also sell alcohol.
We also smoke cigarettes.
Right?
We also,
This is,
That’s the meaning.
The meaning is,
You said you are Muslim.
Right?
What does it mean?
What is the first meaning of Muslim?
Who is a Muslim?
The one who has,

The one who has submitted to Allah .
When you submit to Allah ,
That is why submission to anyone other than Allah is not permitted.
Because if I submit,
It means I have no will of my own.
What do I want?
I want what Allah wants.
I have no will.
I have no will of my own.
I have no desire of my own.
I don’t say,
Well,
Allah wants something.
But you know,
I want some other.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
If I do that,
If I say,
something else, then you are not submitted.
You are not submitted. Then how are you a Muslim?
Today, this is the
by and large, this
Allah keep us among the exceptions, but
this is the problem
of the Muslims.
We pick and choose.
I do what I feel like doing
and I say, oh, mashallah, you know, I’m such a great guy.
Nobody says that. But the point
is, you are saying, you are really doing
this because this also suits you.
You like to do this.
You like to wear Islamic clothing because
it looks nice.
That’s not the reason why you should wear it.
Because,
the deed is based on
the intention.
That’s why I keep saying, I mean, all of you most welcome
come to the masjid, what not, but if you are
coming to the masjid because you want to go to the gym,
believe me, there’s a problem with coming to the masjid.
You will not get
the reward for coming to, even though you will pray,
obviously you will pray, I know you will pray, I know you won’t
be playing in the gym or doing something in the gym
when the salah is going on, but
why did you come to the masjid? Did you come
to the masjid to pray? Or did you come
to go to the gym?
Two opposite things. I
come for the gym, I also pray.
I come for the prayer
and between the prayers, there is
a gap, so I go to the gym. The two
completely opposite things. Nothing wrong
with going to the gym. Please, most welcome, that’s why we have the gym.
Most welcome, please go.
But examine your knee.
Because if you take the hadith of the Prophet,
he said when a person makes
wudu at home
and he goes to the masjid with the
intention of salah, then Allah
subhanahu wa ta’ala will give him one hasana
for every step he takes,
he will wipe out one sin
for every step he takes, and he
will raise his darja, his
station in Jannah by one
for every step he takes.
Now you know that one hasana is equal to
how many rewards with Allah?
Ten.
Ten rewards with Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
But that’s coming for who?
For the person who is going to the masjid
with the intention of praying.
Now you might say, I came with the intention of praying,
then my brother Ahmad is here,
he has some issue, he wants to talk to me,
should I talk to him? He says, no.
Please talk to him.
But did I come here to say,
you know what, my friend Ahmad is there
or my friend Devin is there,
I’m going to go hang out with my friend?
No, no, no, no.
I’m going to go hang out with my friend.
I’m going to go hang out with my friend.
I’m going to go hang out with my friend.
Completely different.
You may have, may Allah give us friends
who also meet in the masjid.
Very good.
People make ayatul qaf in Ramadan.
And I’ve heard this, people saying,
you know, I’m going to make ayatul qaf in that masjid.
Why? No, all my friends are going to be there.
So is this ayatul qaf
or is this some hangout party you’re having
in the name of ayatul qaf?
So let us examine ourselves.
Inshallah I remind myself of you.
Let us examine our lives.
And say, am I fully in Islam
or am I partially in Islam?
The problem with being partially in Islam is
that when you pick and choose,
picking and choosing,
selective obedience is disobedience.
Right?
Selective obedience is disobedience.
Say, for example,
Salatul Isha is four rakat.
You say, no, you know what,
four rakat is too long,
I’m going to pray three.
Will your salat be valid?
No.
Oh, but you see, after all, I prayed three.
I prayed 75% of the salat.
Is that a valid argument?
No.
Salatul Isha is four rakat, brother.
You want to pray Salatul Isha, pray four rakat.
If you don’t want to pray, that’s a different issue.
But if you are going to say, no, I will pray half of it,
I will pray three quarters.
No.
Not acceptable.
Same thing.
Islam is what?
Islam is to follow the deen
which the Prophet ﷺ brought completely.
Not partially.
Not completely.
No.
Fully.
So let’s examine ourselves and say,
where am I missing out?
What about the deen am I missing out?
And let us fill those gaps.
Because selective obedience is disobedience.
And for that, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala said also in Surah Al-Baqarah,
Allah said,
Are you among those who accept some
and have iman on some things,
and you deny other things?
Selective obedience.
You obey some things and you disobey some things.
Allah says,
Allah SWT said,
Are you going to be among those people
who take some things and you leave something else?
If you do that,
what is the reward for those of you who do this?
Accept hardship and difficulty
and disease and accidents and loss.
خِزْيٌّ فِي الْحَيَاةِ
خِزْي means very, very difficult.
Allah said, I will make your life very difficult
in this dunya.
And then, does it end with that?
And then Allah said, on the day of judgment,
you will be sent into the worst.
يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ أَشَدِّ الْعَذَابِ
The worst punishment.
Now you might say, Allah,
I did not deny you.
I did not make kufr.
No, no, no.
Selective obedience is kufr.
Because Allah SWT made something for
and you are saying, no, no, this I won’t do.
So very careful.
So let us look at, I remind myself and you,
let us look at our lives and say,
where am I missing out on the obedience of Allah SWT?
And fill that up.
We may miss something, we make mistakes,
alhamdulillah, Allah SWT is all forgiving.
But deliberately leaving something,
deliberately doing something which is haram,
we know it is wrong, but we still do it.
No, no.
You say, I will not do, even if you are doing,
you are doing it till today,
say, I will not do it.
And believe me, in these matters,
where the hukum of Allah
and the order or hukum or whatever of
anyone else in the world,
if the two are together,
you obey Allah, you don’t obey anybody else,
including your parents.
Allah SWT mentioned this in Surah Al-Isra,
Surah Al-Furqan and so on,
in Surah Al-Lukman and so on.
Even your parents,
you obey your parents,
you do not even say off to your parents,
but if they command you to do,
something which Allah has made haram,
you do not obey them.
Including, so now if the parents are the number one,
you know, relationship in Islam
and to obeying them,
but even they, you don’t obey your parents
in opposition to obeying Allah
and His Rasulullah, His Sahab Surah.
So what about anybody else?
No one else has any position.
If the parents are to be disobeyed,
then anybody else, Saharikum.
I will not do, I will do what Allah has told me,
told me to do,
and I will not do what Allah has not told me to do.
So we be very careful with us.
Let’s make sure that we do the right things.
We ask Allah SWT to open the doors of Hidayah for us.
We ask Allah to make us among those who stand firm
in the face of any kind of temptation and difficulty.
We ask Allah SWT to bless us and guide us and protect us.
And may Allah bless the noble Prophet and his family and companions
with your mercy, O the merciful and the merciful.
And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
