In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
And peace and blessings be upon the honour of the prophets and messengers.
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and upon his family and companions.
Tassleem and kaseer and kaseer.
My brothers and sisters, I want to share with you
some thoughts and remind you and myself
about perhaps the single most important quality of a successful human being.
And that is the quality of being able to forgive.
The quality of being able to forgive.
If you take the life of Rasulullah, peace and blessings be upon him,
this is one thing which stands out.
Where Rasulullah, peace and blessings be upon him,
forgave everyone.
To the extent that somebody like Abdullah bin Ubay bin Salul,
the head of the Munafiqun,
who was an enemy
of the level where Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala actually revealed Quran
after he died
and said that even if you ask forgiveness
for these people 70 times,
70 times,
Allah will not forgive them.
And when the ayat was revealed,
Rasulullah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
if I knew that Allah would forgive them,
if I asked 71 times,
I would have asked 71 times.
Abdullah bin Salul was an enemy of such
virulence and such intensity
that he did not leave any
way or any means
of trying to harm Rasulullah, peace and blessings be upon him,
both personally as well as his message
of Dawah of Islam, both.
Whether it was
to take his people,
300 plus of the people of Medina,
of the people of Khazraj,
away from the,
the army of the believers at the time of Ahud,
which was one of the reasons for the failure of that defeat in that battle,
or whether it was constantly harassing and baiting and,
you know, making fun of Rasulullah, peace and blessings be upon him,
all kinds of ways.
But when he died, his son, whose name was also Abdullah bin,
came to Rasulullah and he said,
I know Rasulullah, my father has died.
And I have two requests.
One is,
can you please give your
Thawb,
the Khamis you are wearing,
to use as a coffin for my father?
So the Barakah of the
cloths,
which touched the Mubarak body of Rasulullah, peace and blessings be upon him,
and he said the second request is if you can please pray Salatul Janada for him,
, I imagine,
, I imagine,
, I imagine,
, I imagine,
, I imagine,
, I imagine,
, I imagine,
I imagine,
I imagine,
, I imagine,
I imagine,
, I imagine,
I imagine,
I imagine,
I imagine,
, I imagine,
I imagine,
what is the barakah of
something like this
where you have
won the aasar of the
Nabi A.S.
directly
and where
you have
the Nabi A.S.
making dua maqfara for you
means janaza is dua maqfara
so you have the Nabi A.S.
himself making this dua
of forgiveness for you
and Nabi A.S. agreed to both
he took off his commission and gave it
and he went and he prayed
when he went there to pray
tried to stop him
he literally came between him and the janaza
and he said ya Rasulullah
don’t do this
why are you praying janaza over this bar
this bar is the worst enemy that we have
Rasulullah A.S. said
to move aside
and this is also the mercy of Allah
after he finished
the Salatul Janaza
Allah revealed the ayat
and said even if you ask
I will not do it
don’t stand
on their graves meaning
make dua forever
this is the mercy of Allah
Allah did not
send him to do this
He sent the ayat before
right
if Allah had sent the ayat five minutes before
then Nabi A.S. could not have done
this is the mercy of Allah
okay my Nabi wants to do let him do
but Allah’s judgment does not change because of that
so the lesson we learn from this
before I go to the forgiveness piece
is that at the end of the day
it is your Amal which stand with you
it is your Amal
your Aqidah and your Amal which stand with you
not anything else
so many times people have this feeling
oh you know I am descended from so and so
I am the Ahlulad of this Sheikh and that Sheikh
and this Peer and that Peer
and this Sufi and that Sufi
and this and this is
I have this Barakah that
no Barakah no nothing
in the Quran
Al Kareem Allah SWT gave us
the relationship of every kind of relation
the son of a Nabi
the father of a Nabi
the wife of a Nabi
directly
Noah’s son
Ibrahim’s father
Ruth’s wife
and then you have
Asi Arad Al Anha
her husband Firaun
right all the relations that you can find
Allah gave example doesn’t help you
does not help you
what helps you is your Aqidah and your Amal
nothing else
and in the case of the Prophet
his own uncle Abu Talib
and not just uncle
his uncle was also Abu Lahab
but Abu Lahab was also against him and so on
but Abu Talib was his
closest and biggest and best supporter
and he supported him till the end
he did not his support didn’t waver until he breathed his last
but despite that
Dabhi Sharif Aslam said very clearly
this is not enough to save him
he said Allah will make his suffering the least in Jannah
so they asked him
Ya Rasulullah what does it mean least
he said that Allah will just put
sandals of the Prophet
and he will not be able to do it
sandals of fire on his feet
so his brain boils in his head like water
least of the punishments
but despite all of this
Dabhi Sharif Aslam himself
forgave everybody
the be it the
the mass forgiveness
the burning of the
Jesus Microsoft
changed what he said
and now I talk about
also friends
what people of Mecca
say they had
that if they don’t love you
even if they cover their hearts
although they have hate
their Vanity
much hate
The people he forgave after the slander on our mother Sayyid Aisha Siddiqua Radhe Laan.
They were people who slandered the Nabi Alaihissalam and they was there.
Hassan bin Sabit was one of them, Radhe Laanu, he continued to be in the Communist of Salon
and so forth.
So individual and personal he forgave.
There is a long list, the whole long list of people he forgave.
So I remind myself and you that forgiveness is the most critical, most important thing.
To the extent also where Mista bin Usasa, the relative of Avogar Siddiqua Radhe Laanu, when
he jubilates.
.
He joined in the slander of Sayyid Aisha Siddiqua Radhe Laan.
Avogar Siddiqua Radhe Laanu said I will not, I will cut off my stipend to him.
And Allah Subh’anaHu Wa Ta-A’la revealed the Quran, the Ayatul Surah An-Nur.
But Allah said do you not want Allah to forgive you?
That those who Allah has, and this is a, this ayah is also in, with praises Avogar Siddiqua
Radhe Laanu.
Allah said Allah has, those who Allah has graced and you know raised their ranks and
darajat and so on.
Let them not swear not to help those who are in need among those who are among the muhajirin
and so on and so on.
And then Allah said do you not want Allah to forgive you?
Allah is not saying that what Mista did was not wrong, I know it’s okay.
No, it’s not okay.
Because Mista received the punishment.
No, it’s not okay.
No, it’s not okay.
The 80 lashes and so on, he got all that happened.
But so Allah didn’t say he is innocent.
No, he said you forgive.
He is guilty, but you forgive.
Now forgiveness, the reason we don’t forgive is sometimes we feel that so and so did this
to me.
This person harmed me.
Whichever way.
Allah has blessed you with us.
What is the harm to us?
For us the harm is only talk.
You know, just think about, think about whoever you don’t like, right?
And then ask yourself, did this person actually hit me?
Did he slap me?
Did he kick me?
Did he bite me?
Physically, what did he do?
Did he kill anyone I love?
Did he kill anyone I love?
Did he kill anyone I love?
Did he kill anyone I love?
Did he kill anyone I love?
Did he kill anyone I love?
Did he kill anyone I love?
Did he kill anyone I love?
Did he kill anyone I love?
Did he kill anyone I love?
Yes or no?
Okay, then why is there such a maisel, but at that time, blame seems to have almost
quieted out you, at that time.
But he is never like that.
You created an Kamalaha.
He is never like that.
Because your fou 맞i mahi or hey nirada boin, maylal aémiya Isn’t it?
I don’t like twee hai, demand hi hai, you imagine but na, what is the problem.
Do you even not мам fearless.
Has nobody amazing?
Hisresser so says I was like that when I was a child.
ligati.miya.
Anasting Unker.
railway school anything.
Rightly or wrongly they said something, it hurt you.
Well, this is understandable.
I’m not saying it does not hurt.
It hurts you.
So, what do you want to do?
Carry that with you to your khabar?
This person said something wrong.
You want to take this with you to your grave?
How does it benefit?
So, but what holds us back is we feel, see this person already did this.
Now I’m supposed to forgive them.
I’m doing them a favor.
Please understand this.
Forgiveness is not about the other person.
Forgiveness is not about the other person.
Forgiveness is about yourself.
You’re not doing them any favor.
You’re doing a favor to yourself by forgiving.
Now you might say, how am I doing a favor to myself?
Think about this.
When you carry a grudge against somebody,
it is like carrying a life,
a burning coal,
in your hand.
When there’s a fire,
the burning coal,
you picked it up.
So this burning coal, who is it burning?
You.
It can’t burn anybody else.
It’s in your hand.
So if you want to do yourself a favor, throw it.
The sooner you throw it,
the better for you.
Another example of understanding this.
Imagine you are riding down the highway on your Harley.
And there’s a,
well unfortunately for you,
there’s a garbage truck in front of you.
So some garbage flies off this truck and you are,
you know, riding.
And this garbage hits you here on your chest.
And this piece of stinking garbage.
What is the first thing you will do?
Absolutely first thing.
You will find the first place you can pull off and wash it off.
Right?
Now instead of that,
suppose you rub it in.
Let it go nicely into your jacket so it doesn’t.
And then every once in a while you smell it.
After you smell it.
Ayee!
You say, what is wrong with it?
Why are you torturing yourself?
See the stinking.
Of course it is stinking.
Who said it’s not stinking?
Nobody said this is Channel 5 or something.
I mean, it is stinking.
That is the reason you wash it off.
Why do you carry it?
So in the world there are people who are garbage trucks.
You can’t help it.
They are like that.
Wherever they go, they are, you know, dumping garbage.
But you don’t have to pick it up.
Even if they dump it on top of you,
which happens sometimes,
not your fault.
Go take a shower.
Immediately go take a shower.
You are rid of that garbage.
Khalas.
And done.
Forgiveness is about you.
It’s not about others.
When you forgive others,
your heart becomes,
you feel light.
You say, Alhamdulillah.
Do it and see.
If anybody is carrying any grudge against somebody,
leave it.
Forgive it.
You don’t have to go and tell them,
I have forgiven.
No.
In your heart,
clear it.
Ask Allah,
Ya Rabb,
I forgive this person.
You know what they did.
You please forgive me for what I have done.
Because finally,
who among us has not done something
that needs Allah’s forgiveness?
Tell me.
We have done,
as far as Allah is concerned,
His rights,
we have done much worse.
Much worse.
So you say, Ya Rabb,
I forgive this person.
You please forgive me.
Right?
And where you are the,
you are the doer,
where you hurt somebody,
go and seek forgiveness.
Don’t take that with you to the grave.
Not good for you.
If you hurt someone,
and don’t go and say,
you know, if I hurt you,
no, no, you know you hurt him.
Don’t, don’t do this.
Don’t play games.
If I said anything,
what do you mean if I said anything?
You said or you didn’t say?
If you didn’t say,
then don’t even do anything.
If you think you are innocent,
leave me that,
no problem.
You will discover it
when you go before Allah.
But if you did something,
go and apologize.
And say, I’m extremely sorry.
I, whatever happened,
please forgive me.
That’s it.
If that person then says,
no, no, I cannot forgive you.
Then that’s their,
that responsibility is on them.
You don’t have to go in 10 times.
No.
One time go and do it decently.
I mean, don’t go and make the forgiveness,
sound like a favor you’re doing to them.
You know, please,
you forgive me.
What do you think?
Do it nicely.
Do it the way you should show some regret.
Seek forgiveness.
We ask Allah Subh’anaHu Wa Ta-A’la Jalla Jalaluhu to forgive us,
to forgive all that we seek forgiveness for,
to forgive all that we forget to seek forgiveness for.
We ask Allah Subh’anaHu Wa Ta-A’la to open the doors of His khair and barakah and rahmah on us.
We ask Allah Subh’anaHu Wa Ta-A’la to fill our lives with khair and barakah.
We ask Allah Subh’anaHu Wa Ta-A’la to protect us from all evil within our hearts.
All evil within ourselves and without,
we ask Allah Subh’anaHu Wa Ta-A’la to protect us from ourselves
and save us from ourselves,
and to save us from all the hamizat-e-shayateen.
We ask Allah Subh’anaHu Wa Ta-A’la to save us from that evil we know
and that we don’t know.
We ask Allah Subh’anaHu Wa Ta-A’la to open the doors leading to His mercy
and His grace and to His Rida.
Wasallallahul nênabiyyi-l-kareem wa ala-alihi was-sahibi ajma’in bi-rahmati
ki arhum al-rahimineen, walhamdulillahi rabbil-adhim.
