Auto-generated transcript:

I remind you and myself that leaders come from the people.
The leader is not sent from heaven.
Leaders come from the people.
If you have good people, you get good leaders.
If you have a gang of bandits, you will not get Omar bin Abdulaziz as the leader of that band.
Right?
You will get the biggest.
Bandit who will be the leader of that bandit of that gang of bandits.
Abu Dahad al-Ansari.
On a side note, I’ll come back.
Abu Dahad al-Ansari.
He was sitting in Majid Nawawi Sharif.
And he says, I saw a small boy who came to me.
He was crying.
He was weeping, tears flowing.
And he came here.
I want your help.
Nawawi Sharif was, I mean, he’s, there’s no.
When Allah.
Subhanahu wa ta’ala said,
What do you say about his Rama?
What do you say about his heart?
Allah is the one who is witness to that.
This boy comes, he’s crying.
He says, Ya Rasulullah, I need your help.
He says, what happened?
He says, Ya Rasulullah, my father gave me, I’m an orphan.
My father died.
I left for me a small, you know, dead garden.
And I want to build a wall around it.
And there is a dead, big dead tree in the way of this wall, which belongs to my neighbor.
And the neighbor is being difficult.
He won’t let me take the wall around the tree.
I told him, give me the tree.
He does not give me the tree.
I said, sell me the tree.
He doesn’t sell me the tree.
So now I don’t know what to do.
So now we saw that Salim said, who’s the neighbor?
The neighbor was Abu Lubaba.
Who’s also, he was not one of the manafiqun.
He was a good sahabi, Mashallah.
But you know, people are people.
So, Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam called him.
He called him.
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said to him, why don’t you give this boy the tree?
You’ve got a big dead palm garden, one tree, give it to him.
He said, no.
This is my haqq, my right.
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, okay.
He said, no.
Sell that tree to me.
Sell that tree to me.
And I promise you a tree in Jannah.
I’m trying to show you what kind of people these were.
He said, sell me the tree and I promise you a tree in Jannah.
May Allah protect us from ourselves.
This sahabi who was one of those who in one Ghazwa actually shared a mount with Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
He’s not a manafiqun.
But human.
He said, no.
What is the meaning of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam promising you a tree in Jannah?
What does it mean?
He’s promising you Jannah.
Okay.
You’re not going to be sitting in Jannah and selling your people there.
You know what?
I got a piece of a tree in the Jannah.
No.
You go to sell.
He said, no.
And he left.
Now Abu Dada, this is not Abu Darda.
This is Abu Dada.
Abu Dada is sitting, listening to that.
As soon as the man left, he came to Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and said,
Ya Rasulullah, if I get that tree for you, will you promise me the same thing?
Yes.
Yes.
Now he said, I said, yes.
So Abu Dada went behind his man.
By the time he caught up with him, he’s in the middle of the market of Madinah on his way home.
Abu Dada caught up with him and he stopped him and he said, Salaam.
He said, I heard this conversation in the masjid and I came to ask you, sell me that tree.
So he said, I did not even sell the tree to the Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
Why will I sell it to you?
He said, no, no, no, hold on.
I will tell you the deal.
He said, my deal is, he said, do you know me?
He said, of course I know you.
Who are you?
Who am I?
He said, you are Abu Dada.
What do you know about me?
He said, everybody knows about you.
He said, what is that?
He said, you have the most valuable piece of real estate in Madinah.
You have the most beautiful date palm garden with 650 bearing date palms.
Wall around the whole thing, a well of sweet water and a house inside.
He said, yes.
He said, what I am proposing to you is, sell me that tree and I give you this whole thing.
The whole garden, well, water, house, everything is yours for one tree.
So he said to her, you nuts, are you crazy?
What’s wrong with you?
What kind of thing is this?
You are joking with me?
He said, no.
I am not joking with you.
I am not joking with you.
I am not joking with you.
Are you serious?
I said, yes.
He said, you want to back off and say, no, no, I didn’t mean.
No, no, no, I will not do that.
No, by the way, imagine, this conversation is happening.
People have gathered around.
They are listening to what is this funny happening.
He said, then all these people have witnessed it.
Yeah, people have witnessed it.
He said, okay, take it.
The tree is yours.
Abu Dada, radiAllahu anhu, says to him, tree is mine, thank you.
The garden, everything is yours.
He goes to the house, to his own house, stands outside and says,
Ya Umudada, come outside.
His wife comes out.
He says, bring the children.
We are leaving.
We are going.
She said, where are we going?
He said, I sold this garden.
She says, to who?
He says, to Rasool Allah, sallAllahu alaihi wasallam.
She says, for how much?
He says, for one tree in Jannah.
And that’s not the bottom line.
The bottom line is her reaction.
She says, Alhamdulillah.
What a bargain!
He just sold the roof from over her head and her children.
He just made them homeless.
Here was this woman who was sitting like a queen in a fantastically valuable property.
And he just made her homeless.
And she says, Alhamdulillah.
What a bargain!
Hey, these were the people.
So, they said, what a bargain!
Alhamdulillah.
But Allah is Allah.
So, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala tests.
Fast forward now to the eighth year of Hijrah.
This is happening in the first year, thirteenth year of Risalah.
Bid’ah.
Before Hijrah.
Fast forward to eighth year of Hijrah.
Sulayh-ud-Dabiyyah.
Rasool Allah sees a dream.
And the dream of the Nabi is Haqq.
The dream of the Nabi is Wahi.
And based on that, he announces, I am going for Umrah.
Whoever wants to come with me, come with me.
We go and make Umrah.
So, roughly thirteen, fourteen hundred people gather with him.
They go.
The long, beautiful story.
When we have time, InshaAllah, we can talk about that.
I don’t want to bust my time limit now.
I don’t want to bust my time limit now.
Now, they reach Hudaybiyyah and you know the whole story.
They were not allowed to go and so on and so forth.
Then Suhail bin Amr comes and they are writing.
Now, he’s proposed this very humiliating and very one-sided and very unfair agreement.
And to everyone’s great surprise and horror, Rasool Allah is agreeing to all of that.
Including, for example, the title of it.
Baina al-Khuraish wa baina Rasool Allah.
La la la la la la.
Ma huwa Rasool Allah?
Baina al-Khuraish wa baina Muhammad bin Abdillah.
We know Muhammad bin Abdillah.
We do not know who is Rasool Allah.
If we believe you are Rasool Allah, then there is no dispute.
We don’t believe you are Rasool Allah.
We believe you are Rasool Allah.
He says to Sayyidina Ali, write it.
He says, this is against my Iman.
How can I write this?
All this is happening.
Sayyidina Ali wrote this.
In psychology, we say, it is the voice of the unconscious, which is the one person speaks.
But when that one person speaks, don’t imagine it’s only one person.
That person is vocalizing what’s in the hearts of all the people.
Right?
Sayyidina Muhammad bin Khattab comes, he says, Ya Rasool Allah, are you not the Rasool of Allah?
Yes, I am the Rasool of Allah.
Are we not on the Haqq and these people are wrong?
Yes, we are on the Haqq, they are wrong.
Then why are you agreeing to this?
He says, I do what my Rabbis told me to do.
He goes and says, Ya Babakar, is he not the Messenger of Allah?
Yes, he is the Rasool of Allah.
Are we not right and they are wrong?
Yes, we are right, they are wrong.
Why is he doing that?
Abou Qadr Siddique says, stop talking.
Stop arguing.
Hold on to his stirrup.
His Rabb will not abandon him.
Many years later, Abou Qadr Siddique finished.
He passed away.
Sayyidina Omar’s Khalifa few years have passed.
He’s walking in the street.
Some people are sitting and talking.
Some people are saying, you know, SubhanAllah, we have this Khalifa,
Omar ibn al-Khattab, he is the best.
He is much better than Abu Bakr.
He stops.
He says, what did you say?
They said, we were praising you, Ameerul Muminin.
We are saying we are so happy with your Hukum and so forth.
And we are saying you are even better than Abu Bakr.
He said, don’t you dare say that.
He said, Allah is my witness.
My life and the life of all my family is sacrificed on one day and one night.
He said, the night in the life of Abu Bakr.
They said, which day and which night?
He said, the night in the Ghara and the day of Hudaybiyyah.
He said, everything, all my deeds and all the deeds of my whole family are sacrificed on Abu Bakr’s one day and one night.
You compare me with Abu Bakr?
He said, there is no comparison.
Allah brings about Hudaybiyyah.
He says, you are a test for the Nabi himself.
Because here is the Nabi.
His word is the word of Allah .
He is promising them you will make Umrah.
But when they go there, they cannot make Umrah.
So, himself, imagine.
It’s almost like saying, Ya Allah, you are letting me down.
If it was in your Qadr that you are not going to make Umrah, why did you bring us here?
He could have said all this.
He did not say anything.
He just said, you are a test for the Nabi.
He said, you are a test for the Nabi.
He is the test of the Nabi.
He is the test of the Nabi.
He is the test of the Nabi.
On top of that, he is signing this very humiliating treaty.
Test for the Nabi himself, Ali .
Test for the Sahaba.
Test of Aqidah on the Nabi.
Test of the Sahaba on the belief and their Iman itself.
Because here is a man.
I believed him about Allah.
And I believe his word is the Wahi of Allah .
Now what happened?
He promised us that we can make Umrah and we are not making Umrah.
So, is he a Sadhu Qalameen or something happened?
Can you imagine what kind of a severe test?
Hudaybiyah without the help of Allah would have been the destruction of Islam.
Islam would have finished on that day.
There would be no Islam.
Except that,
when Allah tests and people are sincere,
Allah also helps them.
And the help of Allah came.
And those same Sahaba, when the treaty was finished,
Allah was not finished with that.
When the treaty is being written,
who turns up?
Abu Jandal.
The son of Sohail bin Amal.
He has been, his elder brother accepted Islam,
Abdullah bin Sohail.
And this man, his younger brother, he accepted Islam.
Abdullah bin Sohail was very smart.
He accepted Islam, kept his children, went to Badr.
In Badr, he went with the Quraysh.
In Badr, he changed sides and he fought against the Quraysh.
He fought against his own father.
He went away.
So he escaped.
But his brother got caught.
He was imprisoned, beaten up and whatnot, and put in chains by his father.
He spent a couple of years like that in a prison of his father.
He did not know this whole treaty is happening and so on.
They just told him, Muhammad is in Hudaybiyah.
He escaped and he came.
And he said, Ya Rasulullah, I have come to seek your protection.
Sohail bin Amal says, he is mine.
Send him back.
Because you just signed the treaty.
You just made a treaty that he is, that you will return our people if they come to you.
Nabi even tried.
He said to him, we have not yet completely signed.
He said, I don’t care about signing.
I don’t care about writing.
Your word is, as far as I’m concerned, I take your word.
You agree.
That’s it.
Period.
And this is actually the standard of the Muslim.
Your word is, it doesn’t matter if you write or not.
You should write for the sake of record.
Allah Subh’anaHu Wa Ta-A’la told us.
Not because the writing is superior to your word.
Your word is your word.
Period.
The word of a Muslim is Haqq.
Sohail bin Amal said, you have given your word.
Period.
I don’t care.
Return, not return.
Return him.
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said to him, go back.
Be steadfast.
Have sabr.
Sayyidina Umar walked close to him.
He said, my sword is long.
I have loose in my scabbard.
I have loosened it.
Take my sword.
Kill your father.
Escape.
Abu Jandal said, no.
I will not kill my father.
Went back into prison.
And later on, he and another sahabi called Abu Basir, they escaped and they formed a group on the way to the caravan routes of Bakka.
And they created a lot of havoc and so on and so on.
That’s a beautiful story.
I won’t go into that.
But point I’m making here is in Hudaybiyah, see the severity of the test.
They are already struggling with the agreement.
Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala actually sent somebody from Makkah to be returned.
Treaty is signed.
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, Sohail bin Amal leaves with the treaty.
And the treaty is you cannot do Umrah this year.
Go back.
You can come back next year.
They come back.
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam comes to his tent.
He’s sitting outside.
He tells the Sahaba, shave your heads, sacrifice the animals.
We are going back.
And for the first time in the Seerah, in the history, the Sahaba, Ridwanullahi Alaihim Majmain, do not move from their places.
These were people for whom the Rasool Alaihis Salatu Wasalam did not even need to ask.
They anticipated his wishes.
And they did that even without being asked.
Now even though the command has gone, they did not move.
They did not refuse.
But they did not obey immediately.
Now the Rahama of the Rasool Alaihis Salatu Wasalam, he did not repeat his command.
Because if he repeats the command and they do not do that, then they are out of Islam.
But his face showed his feelings.
He got up and went into his tent.
His mother Umm Salama Radhiyal Ana was there.
She saw his face.
He was red with anger.
He said, Ya Rasool Allah, what happened?
He says, my Ummah is destroying itself.
I gave them a command they are not obeying.
She said, Ya Rasool Allah, this is very unusual.
This time is very unusual.
They are under huge stress.
This has never been something like this before.
My request is, you go out.
You do it.
Don’t tell them anything more.
You go and do it.
And InshaAllah they will follow suit.
They will do it.
They will obey you.
See his humility and humbleness.
He did not turn to her and say, excuse me, you get Wahi or I get Wahi.
You are advising me?
No.
He listened to the advice of the woman.
He listened to the advice of his wife.
He went outside, called Sayyidina Ali.
He said, shave my head, bring the animals.
What I have brought.
Start sacrificing.
Everybody got up.
Every Sahabi.
They all got up.
They shaved each other’s heads.
They brought the animals.
They slaughtered the animals.
And the Muadakkeen, they say, the historians say, that blood mixed with tears because they were weeping.
Not out of weakness.
Out of their own internal struggle.
Anger and frustration.
And then Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala reveals.
The entire Surah.
The Prophet said, where is Omar?
Imagine Sayyidina Omar when he asked these questions.
He left the Majlis.
He left the Majlis without the permission of the Rasool .
Today, we come here, especially in this country.
People come, they’re sitting in a Khatira.
They’re sitting in a Khutba.
They come, they walk in, they walk out as they wish.
This is not the Akhlaq of the Muslims.
This is not the Akhlaq of the Muslims.
Ask your friend and my friend Abdullah.
When a day of his Khatira, every, any day, I always sit and listen to Khatira.
Any day if I need to leave, ask him whether I seek permission or I go without asking.
I am the age of his father. He is like my son.
I do not leave his Khatira without seeking his permission.
He tells me, Sheikh Subhanallah, you don’t have to ask.
I say, no, I have to ask.
I have to ask.
This is the Akhlaq of the Muslims.
This is not a club.
This is the Majlis of the Rasool .
This is the Majlis of Zikr of Allah .
It’s not a club.
Sayyidina Umar leaves without permission.
Rasool did not reprimand him.
He understood his pain.
But he did not change his decision.
This is the Christ.
This is the thing.
As the leader, you must have the confidence in yourself to say what I am doing is right.
I will do it whether people like it or not.
I’m not here to please the people.
I will be accommodative.
I will be kind.
I will listen to them.
But I’m not here to please the people.
Popularity does not matter.
What Haqq has to be spoken.
Haqq must be done.
If nobody likes it, no problem.
You can keep your job.
I’m not interested in your salary.
I work for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
This is the house of Allah.
This is not your house.
You can be the board.
You can be the president.
You can be the trustee.
I don’t care who you are.
I will speak the Haqq for the sake of Allah.
Khalas.
Nabi sallallahu alaihi wa sallam did not change.
But he understood that.
He understood their anguish.
He understood why they were sad and angry.
But he did not change his decision.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala said,
Inna fata’ahna alaka fata’ah mubeena.
On the face of it, it is a defeat.
Allah is saying, this is the fata.
Because it’s the fata.
Because it is the proof that the Sahaba were true to their word.
It is the fata of the Amr of Allah.
It is the fata.
It is the victory of the Rasul alaihi sallallahu alaihi wa sallam’s command
and his ruling over the desires of people.
And the desire was a desire for Ibadah,
not some haram thing they were doing.
But when they proved that we will obey the Nabi,
what did they promise?
They said,
We will obey you whether we like it or not.
Allah said, show it to me.
I’ll put you in a situation where you will be torn in two inside,
liking and not liking, on matters of Ibadah.
But you will obey my Nabi.
You will not say, I want to worship Allah.
No, no, no, no, no.
You will obey the Nabi.
The worship of Allah is to obey the Nabi.
The Nabi said,
Sallu kamar aithumuni usalli.
And when you show that you obey the Nabi,
Allah said, this is fatah.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala,
two years later,
gave them Makkah.
No more permissions of anybody belongs to you.
Take it.
Hey?
Crisis of followership.
We are the trouble.
We don’t want to follow the Nabi.
We don’t even know who is the Nabi.
We don’t even know who the Prophet is.
To begin our business.
It is the question of giving.
How does the Nabi give.
While we love Universal being.
And on Best Start,
how does good Scripture say that
Basically,
Hibaqu and H presumption
but if you believe in 31 there is no such thing as
2,000,000 is is the Tao of Allah’s皆さん
and the 12 esemen is to say before him that
this is the most Almighty Allah.
And the Doctrine of love isives.
And he says Let’s go on with rapper nagash qola
let’s go all of these will pass it over to him
And we ask Allah to protect us from what we cannot do.
But to the best of my ability, I will emulate the Rasulullah.
Subhanallah, do these two things.
Then see how your life will change.
See how Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala will give you power.
See how Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala will protect you.
See how Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala will raise your hands.
Allah will accept your dua before your hand comes out.
Today we are in a state, we talk about Gaza.
Make dua for Gaza.
Tell me, where has dua for Gaza not been made?
In the Haram, in Arafah, in Masjid Nabawi Sharif, in Aqsa, in here, in there, in Ramadan, after Qiyamul Lain.
The Imam is chanting, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah.
What has happened to Gaza?
Have things improved?
Have things even remained the same?
Or have they become worse?
Ask yourself.
Ask yourself, why?
Answer is very clear.
Answer is very clear.
We want to earn Haram.
We want to eat Haram.
We want to live Haram.
And we say, Ya Allah, Ya Allah, Ya Allah.
There is a hadith on this.
There is a man comes to the Masjid Nabawi Sharif.
He is covered with dust.
He is a man who is a traveler.
The dua of the traveler is accepted.
The man is a traveler.
He stands there, raises his hands high up like this, which is one of the ways of asking Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
He says, Ya Allah, Ya Rabb, Ya Rabb.
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, his food is Haram.
His clothes are Haram.
His life is Haram.
How will Allah accept his dua?
He is a Muslim.
He is asking in Masjid Nabawi Sharif, in the presence of the Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
And the Nabi is saying his dua cannot be accepted because of his life.
Because of his lifestyle, because of how he lives his life.
Let us ask ourselves, what do we do?
Every convenience store in this country is owned by Muslims.
All those convenience stores, they sell gambling lottery tickets.
They sell cigarettes.
They sell alcohol.
They sell pornographic literature.
You are earning from that.
You are feeding your children that stuff, which is Haram.
You eat non-zabih food.
Then you make a fatwa.
Say Bismillah and eat.
You take a glass of whiskey and say, Bismillah.
It becomes water.
Haram is Haram.
Halal is Halal.
Zabih is the way, the method which makes meat halal for consumption.
Do what you want.
I don’t care.
I will keep saying this until I die.
Wallahi.
But remember one thing.
If you eat Haram, if you earn Haram, Allah will not accept your dua, no matter what.
You will know what you do.
So make a pledge to yourself.
We will not earn Haram.
We will not eat Haram.
We will earn Halal.
We will eat Halal.
Because my Rabb Jalla Jalaluhu.
He does not need me to do Haram to feed me.
He has no need.
So you come ahead.
Make a promise to yourself.
I will learn about the Prophet .
I will try to implement his Sunnah in my life.
I will make his name the most common and the most often repeated word in my house.
Yes?
Inshallah.
He was our Salaam
Ya Allah teach us
Teach us about him
Let his Khub
Fill our hearts
And let that be visible
In our actions
In our speech
In our lives
In our ways
O Allah make us among those
Who Rasool Allah S.A.W
Will recognize
On the day of judgment
When we come to his house
And who will welcome us
Make us among those
Who will not be driven away
At that time
By the Malaika
Saying Ya Rasool Allah
You do not know
What they did in your absence
Ya Khayum
Ya Allah make us among those
Who will be worthy of
And who will receive
The Shafa’at
Of the Nabi S.A.W
On the day
When you will accept his Shafa’at
Ya Allah shade us
Under the shade of your throne
On the day when there is no shade
Except your shade
Ya Allah gather us
At the house of Rasool Allah S.A.W
And decree
And that destined for us
That we receive
The water of Al-Kawthar
By his blessed hand
Decree that we
Cross the Sirat
Behind him
In your protection
Decree that we enter
Jannatul Firdausul Ala
Ma Rasool Allah S.A.W
And behind him
And decree
That we sit in his majlis
In Jannatul Firdaus
And listen to the
Tilawat of the Quran
Bismuhu Muhammad
Mustafa S.A.W
And decree
That on that day
You will give us
Your own
Your own
Tajalli
And your own Noor
And your own
Your own Didar
That we see you
And we worship you
Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum
