Define tomorrow

Auto-generated transcript:

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds. And peace and blessings be upon the honor of the prophets and messengers. Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and upon his family and companions. Peace and blessings be upon him. My brothers and sisters, Rasulullah A.S. told us in the hadiths that he said if a person wakes up in the morning with good health, body is working, he has a roof over his head meaning he is safe, and he has food for that day, that one day. He said it is as if the whole world has been collected for him. What is the condition? Body is functioning, he is not paralyzed or something, he is not lost. He has a roof over his head, without sleeping on the street, and he has enough food for that one day, on the next day. You can see the words. Mabeeza Rasool did not say that it is good for him, he should be satisfied. He said it is as if the whole world has been collected for him. That means he has no other need. Now think about this, why would Navasura Sam say as if the whole world is collected? Why would he say as if he has no other need? Seriously, if you think about it, if you look at ourselves and see the things that we are worried about, everybody has got some worry. For how many people is the worry about today? The reason we don’t have worry about today is today is in front of us. So there is no need to worry. If I don’t have food now, I will say, okay, let me go find some food. Or today I will fast, I don’t need the food. Where is the worry? The worry is for the tomorrow. Always, tomorrow. Tomorrow what will happen? So and so will become President, so and so will become Prime Minister, this party is in power, that party is in power, stock market is going up, stock market is going down. How about tomorrow? But what did the Holy Prophet say and what did Allah say about the tomorrow? He said there is no tomorrow. Tomorrow is? This world, the Holy Prophet said, live in this world, like somebody who is travelling on a path. He said a man is on a journey, he just stopped under a tree for some shade, for a little while, then he is moving, that tree is for his life. He is on this journey. So the problem with worrying about tomorrow is that tomorrow may never happen. First of all it may not happen, secondly even if it happens, what you are worrying may not happen. And after all we have faith in Allah SWT, we make dua, we pray the hajj, we give sadhakaat and so on and so forth. Where is the, don’t we have even at least that much of Iman on ourselves or not? Confidence in ourselves, even in Allah SWT? Then why are we praying? If we think the salat will not be accepted, why are we praying? We pray because this expectation is, alhamdulillah, inshallah Allah will accept. So our problem and stress is because of one or two things. One is because of the past. You are thinking about the past, you are worrying about the past, so and so said this to me, so and so said that to me. I did this, I did that. Now if it is something you did for which you need to make istighfar and tawa, make istighfar and tawa, then forget about it. If you need to redress some wrong gifts, give back something you took from somebody, give it back and finish with it. People’s opinion, so and so said this about me, that person thinks this and that, doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter. Let people think. In any case you have no control over what anybody thinks. Why you worry about it? Do it. Let them think. So past is, that is the past, alright? Khalas. Take from it whatever is good, finish it, make istighfar and tawa, over. Future? We don’t even know whether it will happen. Now the real future, that’s why I say, define your tomorrow. What is tomorrow? Seriously make this definition. If I say tomorrow, what do I mean? Do I mean the 27th of January 2025 or do I mean tomorrow as in the akhirah? Because the tomorrow which we are assured about, 27th of January 2025, do I know that I will see it? I don’t know. I do not know. And wallah Allah is the witness. I do not know. Have I died tonight? Tomorrow I will not see. Tomorrow will come, who cares? I am not there. But the tomorrow that I will see and you will see is the akhirah, is the tomorrow of the akhirah. So what is our plan for that tomorrow? For this tomorrow we have all kinds of plans. This one, that one, I will make this application, job, what not, if I don’t have a house, buy a house, halal, haram, everything is fine, no problem, we have to live in this world. What about the tomorrow which is sure, definite? We all have two tomorrows. One tomorrow or like this, which is temporary. If it is, whether it is good or bad, it will end. It will not last forever. And it may never happen. But the other tomorrow is something which is permanent. Whatever is good and bad is forever. If it is good, a hundred lives, if it is bad, then we are in zero trouble. You can’t change it. What is our focus on that? And the reason we don’t have the focus is because of this, what I call the fundamental principle of wall advertising. Tell me, what is the fundamental principle of wall advertising? Repetition. Repetition. Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat. I don’t know about TV as you know, but those of you who have TVs, just watch and see which ad, how many times the ad comes in, in, in, in, in the TV. And then you can see the ad. And then you can see the ad. I don’t know about TV as you know, but those of you who have TVs, just watch and see which ad, how many times the ad comes in, in, in, for the day, in one hour. Why, why do you tell me this thing? You say I’m stupid? You told me one is not enough? No, no, no, not enough. You are stupid, that’s why you are sitting and watching that thing in the first place. But, You know the famous saying, they said repeat a lie one thousand times? A lie said once is a lie. A lie repeated one thousand times becomes the truth. Repetition. Now more and more and more you repeat something, the more real it becomes. That is the reason why Allah swt mentioned the akhira so many times in the Quran. What is the need? Allah swt could have said one ayah, khalas. Enough. Message is conveyed. There is an akhira, there is a day of judgment, you will be called broke out, finished, one ayah. Why does Allah swt say it over and over so that it becomes real for us? May Allah have mercy even then it is not real. But for us, you know, to sahaba, how many ahadith, ya rasool Allah in the jannah, what is the water like? Ya rasool Allah in the jannah, what is the water like? Ya rasool Allah in the jannah, I like dates, will I have tamar? Ya rasool Allah in the jannah, you said if I say Subhan Allah, Allah will plant a tree. How big is this tree? Making it real, right? It’s not just okay, five jannah is there somewhere. Insha Allah I have belief, I don’t deny that. But specific things. You see the hadith, Abhishek swt said Allah will give a mehla, grant us all of these things big time. I always say Allah you make me say on this and make it true for us insha Allah. Abhishek swt said there will be people who will have this, this palace will be made of one single pearl, one dome, one pearl, one pearl, whole palace is one pearl. He said there will be people whose palaces will be floating in the air. See the question of sahabi. The sahabi does not say how will it float in the air. No. He said Ya rasool Allah how will we reach it? How will we get up there? Palace is floating in the air, how will we get up there? Abhishek swt said you will go there like the bird goes to the rest, you will fly. This is the issue of yakhin. When Abhishek swt said in the last day, in the last day he said a day will be like a month and the month will be like a year and so on. The sahabi did not say how is it possible with the rotation of the earth stop. They said how will we pray? When one day is like one year, how will you pray? Five sala, how will we do the five sala? What is the way? How will you measure this time because the time is expanded so much? Yakhin. And this comes by repetition. So I want to end with this. I want to give you a task, homework. And the homework is keep a little notepad with you. And in that notepad every time you talk to somebody, whatever you talk or somebody talks to you or you look at something or what not, just write D or A. D is duniya, A is akhira. No praise, no blame. We are not saying feel bad, feel good, nothing. Just recording. Duniya or akhira. In the old day, how many times do we talk about the duniya? How many times do we hear and listen about the duniya? And how many times do you hear and listen about the akhira? Right? Think about that. Because to that extent, that duniya or the akhira will become real in your life. It’s a direct relationship between the number of times it is repeated and the way it sinks in and becomes the truth. How many times do you say, I need my, if I do my job what will happen? If the economy drops what will happen? And how many times do you say, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala huwa razza khudur khuwati l-matin, Allah promised to feed me, what will happen? How many times? Do we say this even? Even once? In the old day? Right? So think about it. We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to enable us to do what it takes to strengthen our iman and yakeen and to keep us in the state which pleases Him. And to give us izzah and to protect us from all the shuroor and the sharr of the jinns and ninsns and from all the sharr of the maqlook. We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to be pleased with us and never to be displeased. Wa sallallahu ala nabi’l kareem wa ala alihi wa sahbih wa jami’in bi rahmatillahi wa rahmatillahi wa barakatuhu.
