Bismillah ** الرحمن الرحيم**. Alhamdulillahi rabbul alameen. Wasalatu wassalamu ala ashrafil nubiyyil wal mursaleen. Muhammadur Rasulullah **ﷺ** Tasliman kathiran kathira wa ma’adu. Alhamdulillah we have a series of questions today. Let’s see how many of them we can… Second question is, in Islam we have any form of dhikr and ways to ask forgiveness? Azkar of Allah **ﷻ**. Dhikr is basically remembering and therefore you can use any of the Asmaa wa sifat Allah ta’ala. The names and attributes of Allah **ﷻ**. You can use La ilaha illallah. So, the fundamental forms of dhikr. One is tasbih. Right? What is tasbih? Shukr wa malik. Right? Tamheed. Tahmeed. Alhamdulillah. And then what is the other one? Takbeer. Allahu Akbar. And then? Ahleel. La ilaha illallah. So, Subhanallah, walhamdulillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wa Allahu Akbar. So, these four you should do. And do as much as you can. But just for the sake of ensuring you do something, say, let’s say, 100 times each. There’s no magic formula. Just to make sure that we do something. So, you can do that. You can say, Subhanallah, 100 times. Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, and so on. Or you can say, Subhanallah, walhamdulillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wa Allahu Akbar. And you can also add, La hawla wa la fawata illallah, wa la… And do this whole thing 100 times. So, whichever you… Which is your thing. The key thing is not the count. Please understand this very clearly. The key thing is not the count. The count, as I said, is only as a matter of convenience. At least this much you must do. Usually, this is what people will prescribe for you. Do 100 times. And there are… I had this also mentioning the value of each of these and the reward and so on. The key thing is to do the zikr. With complete understanding and the feeling of that zikr in your heart. See, think about this. Zikr is with the tongue, right? And also in the heart. But the zikr, like I said about Ibadah, is a tool to achieve something. So, when you are saying that zikr, then you must look to see what is the effect. And you must look to see what is in the heart. If I’m saying SubhanAllah, imagine you come and see this beautiful view. And you say, SubhanAllah. Yeah? SubhanAllah. I was coming back from Jeddah just now. Last week. And I was waiting for Saadatul Fajr. So, to see when should I pray. Because the flight took off from Jeddah at some 3 o’clock or something like this. 1 o’clock. 1.50. So, it just took 2 minutes. And then when the sky started to lighten, then I saw a little red glow on the horizon. Right? And I know the sun is going to come up. So, it’s time for me to pray Saadatul Fajr. That view was so beautiful. SubhanAllah. This is one little planet in this entire universe. This is a galaxy of billions of stars. And so on. One planet which is not even like a grain of sand on a beach. Which has a piece of sky there. And this sky has got some clouds. It’s got our star which is the sun which is showing itself on the horizon. That is so beautiful. SubhanAllah. So, how must the creator of this be? So, that feeling of the awe and glory and majesty of Allah must come to you. And you must come with every SubhanAllah we say without a doubt.
Now, there is a story that Sulaiman was going somewhere with his army. And he was flying through the air. And all the jinn and whoever, you know, the magnificence of Sulaiman. And there was a farmer who was standing in his field. And he saw him going. He said, SubhanAllah. SubhanAllah caused Sulaiman to hear that. So, Sulaiman came down into the field. In front of that man. And he said, what did you say? The man got terrified. He said, my God, what happened? Sayyidi. He said, yeah, Nabi Allah. Did I do anything wrong? I am sorry. He said, no, no, no. You said something. What did you say? He said, I said, SubhanAllah. I saw you going with all your Lashkar. You know, your army and your pomp and your splendor. And flying through the air. SubhanAllah. So, I looked at this. I said, SubhanAllah. SubhanAllah said, by the one whose hand is my soul. That one SubhanAllah of yours is better than everything I have. We know that we shall set them set that a slave will be produced before Allah **ﷻ** judgment. And when his deeds are weighed, the pan with the evil will have scroll of unscores. Lord book and book. And from where the pan is to the heavens. And the other pan is high in the air and it’s empty. There’s nothing there. So, the man will, they will ask the man. He said, do you have any good deeds? Man says, no. I have nothing. Because he’ll go to Jahanam. He has no good deeds and he’s got evil piled up to the sky. Then it will be said to the man, you have one. You have one good deed. The man says, what? So a piece of paper will be given to him and they will say, take this piece of paper and put it in that pan. So the man takes the piece of paper and he puts it in the pan and Aswara Aslam said that plan will slam down. With the wind. And the man with his evil deeds and all those tons of books will fly in the air and the books will all fly off. With the force and the violence of the things, bang, and it goes up. This is what is written on this piece of paper. La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad Rasool Allah. He said, that is the Iman you have in your heart. La ilaha illa Allah. But this is not encouragement to do good, evil. Point being, the value of La ilaha illa Allah. So when you are doing this dhikr of La ilaha illa Allah, remove everything from your heart. La ilaha. No one worthy of worship. No one can harm. La yanfa. No one can benefit. Surah Surah. No one can harm. Illallah. Throw it all out. Illallah. La ilaha illallah. There is no need to make body movements and so on. There is no need to make dhikr loudly. You can say it when you can hear it. But no need to make dhikr loudly. No need to make dhikr into a special ritual that you have. Where everybody is sitting together in a circle. Everyone is chanting together. All of this, please, is not from the sunnah. Don’t do it. These are the traps of shaitan. You are doing something good and shaitan converts that good into something evil because he makes this into a bid’at. Don’t do that. Dhikr is to be done individually, by yourself. Silently. You can say it, but not loudly.
Ayats 24 1 You have an punyaqaba 2 A Christian stimulus. 3 encryption and penalty. 4 Really only wants to show off. They pursue meditate and draw lots, Indulquiera great-grandmother niewi okayyata sab hi Ya ne discourse شباب PR hab يرمح اس about, not what’s happening outside, not the people saying, looking at the world, what not, you know, stuff like that. Don’t do this. The purpose of zikr is to connect you to Allah **ﷻ**. So very, very clear. You make sure that you focus on when you are sitting in the majlis and you are listening to the glory of Allah **ﷻ**, anything that is coming in between is shaitan. Remove it. The best way to remove the shaitan is physically remove it. The shaitan is usually rectangular in shape. You know, it has a screen. It has a camera at the back. I’m describing shaitan for you, so you can describe it as shaitan, right? Because what else can it be? You’re talking about the glory of Allah and the shaitan is coming in between, taking you somewhere and telling you that something else is more important than Allah than… So also for when you say Allahu Akbar, please also understand these are the names of Allah **ﷻ**. And minimum is that you pronounce it correctly. Allahu Akbar. Say it, everybody. That’s it, right? Allahu Akbar. I hear all kinds of people make all kinds of permutations and combinations of this pronunciation. I don’t know why. Allahu Akbar. Say it, everybody. That’s it, right? Allahu Akbar. This is up. Anything other than this is wrong. Don’t do it. Allahu Akbar. And there again, Allahu Akbar. Nothing is beyond that. Allah is the greatest. So anything that comes, any person that comes, any idea that comes, any fear that comes, say Allahu Akbar. Allah is bigger than that. And I’m making rujo towards Allah **ﷻ**. I am turning to Allah **ﷻ**. So this thing, whichever it is, whatever it is, this can’t do anything to me. Alhamdulillah, think about the blessings of Allah **ﷻ**. For example, we look at things, we look at scenery, we look at, you know, whatever. And we say, oh, look at that. I just mentioned to you the sunrise. Now imagine, so before that, how am I able to appreciate that sunlight, the different shades of color, the different shades of the depth of it and so on, because I have full color vision, multi-color vision. Supposing I could see only in black and white, which happens with people, they are completely color blind. They are not blind, they are color blind. The same picture, the beauty is gone. Just black and white. Not only should we thank Allah **ﷻ** for having eyesight, we have to thank Allah **ﷻ** for having color vision.
I remember one day, we were invited by one of our friends here for lunch. I think it was after Ramadan or something like this. And you were all there. After Ghandi Bhai, we had our lunch. So we went there, they have beautiful food and so on and so on. And one of the guests there was a lady. Her husband was also a lawyer. I think now they are in Washington, he is the ambassador or something. His wife. So we were taking food and, you know, she was there. She and I were talking. And I said, isn’t this food absolutely fantastic? She told me, for me, everything tastes like cardboard. No taste. So I was shocked. So all this beautiful food, fabulous aroma, beautiful taste, zero. She said, it’s like eating grass. It’s like eating cardboard. Whatever it is, you know. We say this, I don’t know, what does cardboard taste like anyway? So the question is, even cardboard they can’t taste, you know. So I said, I said, what, how, what happened? She said, I don’t know. She said, I have three children. After the third child was born, my taste buds went dead. She was not born like that. She had children. She had, you know, the taste buds were there. She would taste food and everything else. But the third child, after the third child, taste buds, they would taste like cardboard. So how much should we thank Allah **ﷻ**? We sit and eat. Say, mashallah, what a taste. Thank Allah for the fact that you can taste it. Alhamdulillah. Thank Allah **ﷻ** for those of you who have parents. Thank Allah for parents. That Allah gave you parents. That there is somebody there in this world who can make dua for you. Alhamdulillah. Because the dua of the parents is the most magbul dua for the person, for the child. The mother’s and the father’s dua. Thank Allah **ﷻ**. Alhamdulillah, Allah gave me parents. Thank Allah that He gave you grandparents. For those of you who grandparents are alive, thank Allah **ﷻ** that Allah gave you grandparents and then go and meet those grandparents and sit at their feet and listen to them. Don’t get irritated that the old people are saying the same stories again and again. A day will come when that old man will not be there when that old woman will not be there. I appreciate it. Listen to that story 10 million times. Don’t say, every time listen to it as if it’s the first time. Show your delight. Your grandmother or your grandfather will say, you know, I’ll tell you a story. You know exactly the same story. 50 times he has already told me. Then he will say, what’s the story? Then he will say, really? You’re not making fun of them. You are giving them that pleasure of telling that same story. As if it’s for the first time. Give them that joy. This is a little thing you can do. Do it. Don’t be stingy. Don’t say, how am I? Yeah, I know that. No. Alhamdulillah.
There’s no one worthy of worship except Allah. Clean the heart. So the purpose of dhikr is to do the work. To do it with this whole feeling and the glory and the magnificence. Now with dhikr, alhamdulillah, as I mentioned to do these four things. And then the final one point I want to make here before we end is, durood sharif, which is salat and salam on Rasulullah **ﷺ**. The best form of that is durood Ibrahimi, which we recite in salah, in tashahud. But you can, any kind of durood, Allahumma salli ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa ala alihi wa sahbihi wa barik wa salim, whichever. Right? You try and do durood Ibrahimi, what’s the problem with that? Do it. There are many, many fawahid and many fada’il of salat and salam on Rasulullah and durood sharif. I’ll just tell you one which is in itself sufficient. Rasulullah said, the one who sends salam on me, which is durood, Allah sends salam on that person 10 times for every one time that he sends durood. So when you are reciting durood, when you are saying durood, do it with that awareness. Feel the salam of Allah on yourself. What is the meaning? If Allah is sending 10 times salam on you, what does it say? What is the meaning of your aakhirah? InshaAllah, you are clean, right? Rasulullah said, when a person sends salam on me from anywhere in the world, durood, Allah appoints an angel to take that and bring it to me and I reply. So do it with that awareness also. That I’m saying this and Allah is replying to me. And Nabi we are replying to. Durood sharif. Again, try to do at least 100 every day. Especially on Fridays do more. So the, the, what am I recommend do 1000 on Fridays. Whatever suits you, whatever you can do, but try and do. Make this, these things, make them into a daily thing for yourself. Every day, like you have your food, you must have your dhikr. Dhikr is the food. There is a long hadith concerning Dajjal, concerning the last days. And how there will be famines. And I’ll, I’m not mentioning the whole hadith here, but the last point of it. Nabi said, one year there will be the sky will not send a single drop of rain and the earth will not produce a single grain. There will be famine like that. So the Sahaba said, Ya Rasulullah, what will we eat? Rasulullah said, SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, Allahu Akbar, this will be your food. This will fill your belly. Imagine, how beautiful that food must be. When I read that, I said, Alhamdulillah, let me see that. I want to see that famine where I am saying, SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, Allahu Akbar, my belly is filled. I am not asking for Allah to show me Dajjal or to show His those days. We ask Allah’s protection from that. But I am saying that, without that famine and without that trial and tribulation, if the zikr becomes so real that I can feel its effect myself, so Alhamdulillah for this. InshaAllah. So do zikr with this concentration. InshaAllah, may Allah grant you and fill your hearts with His Nur. May Allah fill your lives with His Barakah and His Nur. May Allah connect you to Himself. May Allah make us all those who are among His favourite slaves, who will meet Him in a state when He is pleased with us.
