Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Alhamdulillah.
My dear brothers and sisters and elders,
we come to the last of the reminders I want to make about these 10 days,
and that is the days of Hajj and the day of Arafah.
These 10 days are very significant because they also include the days of Hajj.
And Allah SWT said about the day of Arafah,
which is the day of Hajj when people are standing in Arafah.
He said there is no day on which Allah SWT frees more people from the hellfire
than on the day of Arafah.
Hajj is the pillar of Islam as we know,
and which must be performed at the earliest opportunity.
Rasulullah SAW warned us against delaying the performance of Hajj,
and warned us that delay may result in deprivation and deep regret.
Rasulullah SAW is reported to have said,
to perform Hajj,
which is the first obligation,
obligatory for Hajj,
as none of you knows what may happen to him.
He said, you don’t know, maybe you will die before that.
Maybe you will not get time after that, do it.
So as soon as you have the opportunity, go make Hajj.
And this is in Musnad Imam Ahmad, in Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah.
And then also in Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah,
Nabi SAW said, which means,
whoever wants to do Hajj, let him hasten, let him hurry to do so.
Hajj reminds us about the virtue of obedience,
because it’s rituals,
are an enactment of the actions of Ibrahim and his family,
which Allah SWT declared to become and to be rituals of worship.
They did those actions because they needed to.
We do them because they did them,
in honour of them,
and in honour of that Allah SWT forgives our sins.
This is the wages of obedience.
Allah SWT caused those actions,
not just to be remembered,
but He made them the rituals,
the rituals of Hajj.
Abu Hurairah narrated that he heard Rasul saying,
whoever performs Hajj and does not commit any obscenity or transgression,
shall return free from sins as he was on the day his mother gave birth to him.
And this is Haib Bukhari, we make this dua for all those people
who have gone for Hajj this year,
including those who went from here.
And we ask Allah SWT to enable us to go next year,
InshaAllah, especially those who haven’t done Hajj.
In the name of Allah,
make it your topmost priority.
If you are eligible, meaning if you have the money and you have the health,
then that has to become the number-one priority for you, InshaAllah.
Abdullah bin Umar narrated that Rasul said,
the one striving in the cause of Allah,
Jihad feeh Sableeelillah,
and the one performing Hajj,
and the one performing Umrah,
these are all the guests of Allah.
He called them,
and they responded to His call.
and he answers their dua.
And this is in Ibn Majah.
It’s a beautiful opportunity to ask Allah SWT
for whatever you want,
and Allah SWT promised to give it.
Hajj is a lesson in life which is worth reflecting on.
When the pilgrim puts on,
when the hajj puts on his ihram,
he is reminded that this will be the way
in which he will begin the journey of his eternal life
in two pieces of cloth.
During hajj, he stands equal to everyone else there,
without any sign to distinguish him from anyone else,
shorn of all his pomp and splendor,
alone as a supplicant.
On the plain of Arafah, he stands bareheaded and disheveled
with two million others,
begging Allah SWT for his mercy and forgiveness.
When he does tawaf,
he is reminded of Khalilullah Ibrahim AS,
our father and the father of the ummah,
who built the house to be a place of sanctuary
and a place of peace.
He is reminded of the blessing which Allah SWT has bestowed upon humankind
in the form of this blessed water,
which millions of people have drunk through the ages.
And Rasulullah SAW said,
make a niyah and Allah will accept that dua.
He said, zamzam is for whatever it is, drug for.
When he does tawaf,
between Safa and Marwah,
he is reminded of the actions of our mother Haja AS
and the mother of Ismail AS,
the wife of Khalilullah Ibrahim AS.
She didn’t sit and wait for the help of Allah SWT to come,
although she had complete faith in it.
But she made the best effort that she could make.
This is the essence of sabr.
Sabr is not just to sit and wait.
Sabr is to do your best, the ultimate best,
and then to ask Allah SWT,
for his help. The haji is reminded to do the same in his or her life, make the best effort
and trust in the help of Allah. The standing, the wukuf in Arafah reminds the pilgrim of the throngs
of people on the day of judgment. If the pilgrim feels tired from being in a crowd of thousands,
how will it be in a crowd of barefoot, naked, uncircumcised people standing for 50,000 years?
When he throws the pebbles at the Jamarat, the Muslim trains himself to obey Allah
unquestioningly, even if he does not understand the reason and wisdom behind the rami,
behind the throwing, and cannot make the connection between the rulings and their purpose.
This is a manifestation of his complete abudiyya, his submission to Allah.
When he slaughters, he sacrifices the hadith, he is reminded of the great event when our father
Ibrahim alayhi salam sacrificed his life for the sake of Allah.
He was submitted to the command of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to sacrifice his only son,
and his son said to him, do as you have been commanded, and insha’Allah,
you will find me among the sabireen, among the people who are patient.
When the haji comes out of his ihram and things that had been forbidden to him once again become
permissible, this teaches him about the consequences of patience, that after hardship comes ease.
When he finishes performing all the rituals of
haji, he is reminded of the great event when our father Ibrahim alayhi salam sacrifices his life for the sake of Allah.
It states that the haji will be given to Allah and cannot be sacrificed before his sainthood.
Moses said about the performed hajj that they have the right to come ago or later if necessary,
and to have a schedule andnt to forget that they are to be done without,
are
choppy in the period of not being alive –
, consumo de casa – in
ным days.
This has led to 2 years of zak-muliyyah, which is rồiera, and 3 économies when, when,어 Punjab.
in Bukhari and Muslim.
This invites the Haji to start
a new page in his life
free of sin. May Allah grant
this to all of us
and even those who have not gone on Hajj,
we don’t have to go through Hajj for all of this.
All we need to do is to make
sincere istighfar and tawbah and
decide to start a new life and
a new life starts.
The best act of worship during
these days is the Udaya
on Eid-ul-Adha, the sacrifice
of an animal to commemorate
the devotion of Ibrahim
who was willing to sacrifice his son
Ismail for the sake of Allah.
It’s not just about
sacrificing the animal. It’s about
embodying submission, trust
and devotion to Allah.
Sometimes people argue and say
why should I kill the animal? Poor animal didn’t do anything
to me. Why don’t I just give the money in charity?
It’s not a question of animal or no animal.
You cannot give the money
in charity. If you give the money in charity, it’s not
Hadiya, it’s not Khurbaani.
It is the
act of submission. Allah said
do this, we do this.
Allah said
Allah said
neither their meat nor their blood
reaches Allah, rather it’s your
piety that reaches Him.
Final
advice to myself and you.
We prepare for Ramadan
with energy and spirit
and rightfully so.
But let’s not forget the first
ten days of Dhul Hijjah are just as special
if not more beloved to Allah
for righteous deeds.
The nights of these days are also
special except for
in Ramadan we have
Lailatul Qadr. So therefore those ten
nights have precedence
because of that basis,
on that basis because of Lailatul Qadr.
Otherwise these ten days and nights
are the most important ten days
and nights for the whole year.
So don’t let them, let us not let them
pass like any other ten days and nights.
Let them be a turning point in our lives.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
ask,
help us to do that
which is pleasing to Him and to save us
from that which does not please Him.
Rabbana faqfir lana dhunubana
wa kafirana sayyatina
wa tawaffana maalabrar. La ilaha illa anta
subhanaka inna kunna binaz zalimin.
Rabbi firwar hamanta khairur rahimin.
Wa sallallahu ala nabiyyil kareem
wa ala alihi wa sahbihi al-mayn.
Bi rahmatika ya arhum al rahimin.
Al Fatiha.
