Auto-generated transcript:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
And peace and blessings be upon the honour of the prophets and messengers.
And praise be to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and upon his family and his companions.
Peace be upon you all.
My brothers and sisters, people ask me different questions.
Somebody asked me today about the issues of investing in stocks.
And say which are halal stocks and different bodies certify certain companies
and they have different reasons for certifying companies and all that.
So, my answer is very simple.
My answer is that Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala,
through his messenger Muhammad Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam,
gave us a standard.
And the standard is seven questions.
There are seven questions.
Three questions that we will be asked in our grave when we die.
And four questions that we will have to answer on the Day of Judgment.
So, seven questions.
So, my…
Advice to myself and you is that
when it comes to any decision in life,
irrespective, any decision,
whether it is marriage, whether it is investment,
whether it is which school to go to,
what job to take,
what to eat, what to drink, what not to eat, what not to drink,
anything, you name the question.
Anytime you come to a decision point,
refer it to the question that concerns that decision.
You don’t have to look for…
look at all the seven questions,
but the question with respect to that decision.
And if the answer is yes, do it.
If the answer is no, don’t do it.
I’ll give you examples.
First of all, what are the seven questions?
What are the three questions in the grave?
Anybody?
What is the first question which you will be asked?
Okay.
First, man rabbuq.
Who is your Rab?
The malaika are not asking, who is Rabbul Alameen?
Who is the creator of the heavens and the earth?
They’re not asking that question.
They’re saying, who is your Rab?
Right?
Man rabbuq.
What is the second question?
Ma deenuk.
What is your religion?
What did you believe in?
And what is the third question?
They will say, what do you say about the man who was sent among you?
And that is Rasulullah .
Three questions in the grave.
All three have to do with aqidah, with our belief.
It’s not a question of, is it good or bad?
Who is your Rab?
Who is, what is your deen?
Who is your Prophet ?
Then there are four questions on the Day of Judgment.
One of those questions has two parts.
Four questions.
What are the four questions on the Day of Judgment?
We have the hadith of Musa .
He said that the feet of the Banu Adam will not move from before their Rabb Jalla Jalaluhu
until they answer four questions.
You know, I remember, on a side note, I’ll come to you in a minute.
I remember seeing, I watched a film which was about a prison.
So, in this prison, they have different floors and the corridors are made of steel mesh,
very thick steel mesh.
And the prisoners, I saw that they were wearing shoes with metal soles.
And obviously, when they walk, it makes a huge racket.
Bang, bang, bang.
I’m thinking to myself, why do they have to have metal soles and so on?
And then in the film, there is a fight.
And as soon as there is a fight, the prison guard simply goes and throws a switch.
And there is a very powerful electromagnet in the mesh.
It grabs the soles of the shoes and the prisoners are locked in place.
They can’t move.
They can’t move.
So, if a guy is running, his feet are locked.
He falls flat on his face.
He can’t move.
And I remember this, Hadith of Nabi said, the feet of the children of Adam
will not move from before the Rabb until they answer these four questions.
What are the four questions?
What is the first one?
Omri.
Omri.
First one.
Omri.
Omri.

Maa lihi.
Maa lihi.
Maa lihi.
Maa lihi.
Maa lihi.
Maa lihi.
Maa lihi.
Maa lihi.
Maa lihi.
Maa lihi.
Maa lihi.
Asaika maaya.
Where did you earn it from and where did you spend it?
Four questions.
Now, we look at all these individually, inshaAllah, in Qatara.
I’m not doing everything today.
So, let us look at our lives in the light of these.
These are the only things which matter in this life.
First and foremost, convince yourself that nothing else matters.
The only things which matter are these seven points.
If these seven things are good, we are good, inshallah, forever and ever.
If these seven things are the problem, we should fix it.
Because you don’t want to die with that problem.
It’s as simple as that.
So the first and foremost, man Rabbuk, who is your Rabb?
Allah .
Allah .
Is it enough to simply say that?
Allah .
A man came to Muhammad and he said, Ya Rasulullah, tell me what to do?
He said, Qul Rabbi Allah, thumma istakib.
That says Allah is my Rabb and become firm on that.
Be steadfast on that.
Thumma istakib.
Have istighamam on Rabbi Allah.
That is the answer to the question, right?
Man Rabbuka.
Say, Qul Rabbi Allah.
But it won’t end with Rabbi Allah.
If Allah is my Rabb, was I steadfast on that?
What is the meaning of saying Rabbi Allah?
Thumma istighib.
What is the meaning of istighamat on Rabbi Allah?
It means I obey Allah in everything which Allah commanded me to do.
Not selective obedience.
I like this, I do it.
I don’t like this, I don’t do it.
No, no, no.
Selective obedience is disobedience.
Selective obedience is arrogance.
We are obeying or we are not obeying, what are the two?
We can’t say, I will obey partly.
No, there is no partly in Islam.
In Islam, Ya yuallazhi ramanu utquhu fisilvi ka fathan.
Oh you believe enter into Islam completely and totally.
Allah did not tell us, enter as much as you want, as much as you can, as much as you like.
No.
Completely.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
And that is the key.
The key is istiqamat on Rabi Allah.
Right?
So I remind myself and you,
we’ll do it one by one, inshallah.
I remind myself and you,
let us look at ourselves and say,
do I have istiqamat on Rabi Allah?
First and foremost, important thing,
if I have istiqamat on Rabi Allah,
it is salah.
If Allah is my Rab, what do I do?
I worship Allah.
No excuses, no exceptions.
I went to a place today,
I met two Muslim brothers.
And I said, how come I never see you in the masjid?
He said, no, we have no time.
Literally within maybe three minutes driving time from here.
Then he said, when I find time, I will come, Sheikh.
If I’m not busy, I said, what about Juma?
Do you pray Juma?
No, I pray at home.
How do you pray Juma at home?
There’s no Juma at home.
What does it mean with Juma at home?
Om Jee Jai.
No Juma.
Does not even pray.
What they pray, but not even Juma.
Now see, the point is, I can give you the fatwa on this.
The fatwa with the Hanbali, this is the fatwa.
What will you do with the fatwa?
The issue is in our hearts,
what is the position of Allah Subh’anaHu Wa Ta-A’la Jalla Jalaluhu?
Do we really believe that we will die?
First and foremost, I ask this question.
Sometimes I remind myself, I ask you also, stand in front of the mirror,
look at your face in the mirror and ask yourself, are you going to die?
Convince yourself that you will die.
Life looks nice and funny now.
You sit and, you know, make faces and laugh and do what you want.
But one day we will die.
There’s no doubt about this.
No doubt about this.
One way or the other.
We have to convince ourselves.
The problem is that we know this about everybody else.
Me, myself.
Will I die?
Not here in the head.
Yes, everybody.
Yeah, sure.
Of course.
No, no, no, no, no.
Inside my heart.
If I am convinced that I will die, I will die anyway.
What I’m saying, if I have to convince, if I am convinced I will die,
the first question I will be asked is, Man rabok?
Let me get my answer straight.
And when I get my answer straight, Rabbi Allah means I have to pray.
I have to worship Allah .
I have to respect halal and halam.
I should not make shirk.
I must not ask anybody, Iyaka na’budu wa iyaka nastaheen.
I must not ask anyone for help.
I must not ask anyone to, I must not, you know, worship anyone other than Allah.
This is all, this is part of Rabbi Allah.
Right?
So let’s do that.
Let us think about these things.
And let us make sure that we get the answers right.
InshaAllah.
Next khatira, about the next one.
We ask Allah to help us to understand His Deen and to live by His Deen.
And for the barakah of this Deen to fill our hearts and our minds and our souls and our lives.
InshaAllah.
Wa sallallahu ala nabiyyil kareem wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ajma’in.
Bi rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
