We are out here walking the rain in Ashley Reservoir.
And you can see it’s coming down at a reasonable pace.
It’s not heavy, heavy, but it’s still quite reasonable.
And I remind myself and I remind you, just think about this.
This is where reflection, Tadabbur, is so important.
We just think about, okay, rain is falling, I’m getting wet.
First of all, nobody dies from getting wet unless you’re made of salt.
But other than that, nothing will happen to you.
Point is not that. Point is, think about this.
What are we seeing here?
We are seeing here, number one, a substance that is foreign to this earth.
A substance that was sent.
To this earth.
4.5 billion years ago.
This is not an exact estimate.
This is the estimate of the people who know.
That water came to the earth 4.5 billion years ago.
In various ways.
Through, internally through rocks, which Allah created.
Also through tremendous storms.
From space.
Water came to three planets.
Of the solar system.
It came to Mercury.
Where it instantly evaporated because Mercury is so close to the sun.
It came to Mars.
Where it froze solid.
Where underground froze solid because of the cold.
And it came to earth where because of the tilt of the axis of the earth.
At an exact angle of 23 and a half degrees.
Allah gave it the capacity for water to be held.
This is the only material which simultaneously exists in three forms.
Liquid, solid and gas.
Water vapor, ice and water.
4.5 billion years ago.
Now, Allah created everything from water.
Which he mentioned in the Quran.
And then Allah created a self-purification and regeneration system.
For this to remain with us so that the goodness doesn’t go away.
And that is the system of precipitation.
So this rain which is falling here is water which was absorbed, which evaporated from the oceans of the earth.
And we don’t know exactly which oceans.
It didn’t come from a specific place.
But from the oceans of the earth.
This water which is now raining down on me and Varanavar who is with me.
Evaporated from some oceans or many oceans.
And went into the atmosphere.
Converted to water vapor.
Rose up in the air.
Traveled across the globe.
Rose up high enough for the vapor to get cold enough.
That atmosphere to be cold enough for it to condense.
And that condenses.
And that condensation is falling on us now as water.
The water that was absorbed from the oceans was salt water.
Not fit to drink.
Impure.
The water that is raining down on us.
The same water.
Rained down on us pure.
Fit to drink.
Fit to use or whatever you like.
Entire purification process happens.
And it’s the same water being recycled.
There’s no new water coming to the earth from space.
Same water coming to the earth from space.
Same water coming to the earth from space.
Same water coming to the earth from space.
Same water being recycled.
Purified and recycled.
Comes down to us.
SubhanAllahiladheem. SubhanAllahilaykum.
How do you thank Allah for this?
If you, a person can exist without food.
For example three things.
Air, food and water.
A person can exist without air for about three minutes.
A person can exist without food for almost three months.
But a person cannot exist without water.
For more than three days.
After three days, you start getting dementia.
The balance of electrolytes in your body changes.
And you go mad.
And then you die.
A very nasty death.
In three days. Without food.
For a month you’re fine.
For more than a month you’re fine.
This is water.
Absolutely critical.
Comes from Allah .
Free.
And that’s why when you walk in the rain, think about all this.
Think about the fact that it’s not just rain.
You don’t say, oh my God, I’m getting wet.
No, say, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah.
Allah is sending this.
There’s so much, so much blessing in it.
And if I didn’t have this, what would I do?
So interestingly, if you look at the issue of rain,
it’s interesting how language is influenced by culture
and culture is influenced by weather.
Because in the East, in the hot countries,
in the tropics, rain is a sign of mercy.
Rain is welcome.
Rain is something that people look forward to
because of the heat,
because the rain is needed for growing crops
and so on and so forth.
And it’s a great relief from the heat.
And people love the rain.
And they make dua for the rain.
But if you look at the temperate countries,
which is North,
then rain is a sign of trouble.
Rain is, rain is, it brings sickness.
Rain is something which is, you know,
not looked up, looked forward to.
And like I said, in the English language,
say for a rainy day,
which means that a day on which you cannot work,
a day in which you can’t go out
because you will get wet and you get sick.
So a rainy day is a day where you are going to be deprived
of your livelihood and so on and so forth.
So if you look at in that sense and apply it to life,
then you see that Allah said
Allah said
Allah said that we will test you with
with fear, insecurity, with hunger,
with, you know, scarcity of resources.
And then we will test you with destruction of
your wealth, the destruction of your,
maybe tests of health and tests of children and so on.
And issues with, you know,
your savings and the fruits of your labor.
Allah said we will test you with all of these things.
And then Allah said there is
there is good news, glad tidings
and blessings for the people who have
who have patience, who have fortitude,
who have who do not complain with all this.
And they and they bear the difficulties.
They bear difficulties with dignity.
What Shiree Sabe read
These are the people when they are faced with difficulties,
they say we belong to Allah and to Allah is our return.
They know that everything belongs to Allah
and Allah can take whatever he wants whenever he wants.
That is his right as the actual owner of the world.
That is the right of the thing.
That thing may be your own life.
That thing may be yourself,
maybe your family, your children,
your wealth, your name, fame.
Everything belongs to Allah .
It comes from Allah .
If you have it, it’s the grace of Allah .
And he has the right to take it any time he wants.
And Allah said we will test you with this.
But those who treated like this
and they say that this is from Allah
and Allah took it back.
We have no complaint.
Allah said
Allah said these are the people on whom there is Allah sends salam on them.
Allah sends his greeting to them
and Allah covers them with his mercy.
And these are the people who are rightly guided.
So rain in your life, meaning difficulty in our life
can be things which are difficult,
may be painful.
But if you deal with them as we have been taught
by Rasulullah
by the Qalam of Allah
with dignity, with patience,
with fortitude,
without complaining,
then they can be the source of great benefit.
Source of great benefit.
Another thing which,
the issue of rain that comes in your life is
it turns you away from sin towards Allah .
Allah said
Allah said
Allah said
Allah said
Allah said
Allah said
Allah said
Allah said
Allah said
Allah said
We give them a small punishment before the big punishment
so that they can turn towards us.
So if you take rain in your life or something like that,
which is that something which is like a slap on my wrist
because I put my hand and I extended my hand towards something which was haram.
Allah gave me a little bit of rain in my life
so that I can turn back to Allah .
I get warned.
I say no, no, no, this is wrong direction.
Don’t go there.
I turn towards Allah .
So we ask Allah of course for protection
from all forms of difficulties and all tests
and we ask Allah protection from all calamities
and all difficulties and all illnesses
and all losses of any kind
and from fear and from
hoping
or having hope in the creation
and we ask Allah to make us among those
who have hope only and only in Allah
because
There is no one who has any power, any authority,
any ability to do anything good
or bad except Allah .
So we turn towards Allah
with complete and total submission
because submission is the key.
Success comes from submission.
Spiritual submission to Allah
and obedience to Allah
in every single way,
in all that we think, in all that we do
without any rebellion in our heart,
without any resistance in our heart.
Forget about it.
We are not even in resistance to the
the hukam of Allah .
As demonstrated by the sunnah of
Muhammad Rasulullah
We ask Allah to help us to face this life
in a way which is
beautiful, full of dignity,
which is a source of blessing for us
and a source of guidance for whoever looks at us.
And may Allah bless the noble Prophet
and his family and companions with peace and blessings.
