Rights of Rasoolullahﷺ – 1

Auto-generated transcript:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
We praise Him, we ask for His help, and we ask for His forgiveness.
And we believe in Him and we trust in Him.
And we seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our souls and from the evil of our hopes.
Whom Allah guides, there is no one who is misguided from Him.
And whosoever He guides, there is no one who is misguided from Him.
And we bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that there is no partner for Him.
And we bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His messenger.
May Allah send him the truth, the good news and the warning.
May Allah send him the truth, the good news and the warning.
May Allah send him the truth, the good news and the warning.
Parents have rights on us, children, employers, employees, the nation you live in, right?
The environment, everything has rights on us.
But the most important, the most critical rights on us are two,
and that is the rights of Allah and the rights of Rasulullah.
And the rights of Rasulullah.
It is the right of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
that only the right of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
that only He should be worshipped without partners
because only He is worthy of worship and He has no partners.
This is the right of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
And if anyone does not fulfill that right,
then this person will answer to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
for not fulfilling that right.
The rights of Rasulullah are seven.
One is adab wa ihtiram.
An attitude of utmost respect.
Respect and honour.
Two is itaat.
To obey Him without question.
Three is ittiba.
To follow Him and emulate Him in every way.
Four is muhabbah.
To love Him above all things and everyone else.
Five is the right of His Ahlul Bayt.
Six is his family.
To honour and respect.
Them when we honour and respect the Rasul .
Six is nusrat.
To help him sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in every way
which means to help his deen and the propagation of his message.
And number seven is to accept his judgement in all matters
without any resistance either verbal or even in the heart.
And inshallah this Jumu’ah,
and inshallah this Jumu’ah,
and next Jumu’ah,
we will look at these rights.
Allah called the coming of the Messenger
even the sending of the Rasul
Allah called it his great favour on the Muslims.
Allah said
Allah said which means indeed
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala conferred a great favour on the believers
when He sent among them a Messenger Muhammad
from among themselves
reciting unto them his ayat
which is the Quran
and purifying them
internal and external purification
and instructing them
in the Kitab, the Quran
and Al-Hikmah
which is his Sunnah
while before that they had been
in clear and manifest error
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
drew our attention
to the Rasul ﷺ
and said
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala said
and know
take note of this fact
understand
and know
that among you
there is the Messenger of Allah
if he were to obey you
meaning that if he
cared for your opinions and desires
and if he spoke in a way
with the intention that he should please you
and he should attract you
and if he spoke the truth you will run away
sound familiar right
all of this is the pressure people put on Imams
don’t speak the truth
speak in a way which will attract people
agree with people
if they do haram keep quiet
don’t say it is haram
right
people do this all the time
either directly or indirectly
this is the pressure on the Imams
Allah is saying the opposite
Allah is saying if the Rasool fera listened to all of this
and know that among you
there is the Messenger of Allah
if he were to obey you
follow your opinions and desires
in much of the matter you would be in trouble
you would surely be in trouble
not that… not the Nabi
Allah is saying you would be in trouble
but Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has endeared
the faith to you
and has beautified it in you and all of this in a way that is most important to God and to all human beings
your hearts and has made disbelief and wickedness and disobedience to allah and messenger hateful
to you these are the rightfully guided ones people who obey allah and his rasool not people who obey
their own desires and then demand that whoever is in is in the authority or office must confirm
to what they like as i mentioned earlier many times allah subhanahu wa ta’ala created an entire
generation who loved allah rasulullah who loved him and followed him in excellence
and preserved everything he said and did as an example to follow for themselves and those who
came after them it is important to reflect on the fact that both the quran and its explanation the
hadith came from rasulallah sallallahu alaihi both are narrated by him both were heard by
the hadith came from rasulallah sallallahu alaihi both are narrated by him both were heard by the
the hadith came from rasulallah sallallahu alaihi both were heard by him both were heard by the sahaba in his voice
both are necessary for us to practice and live by islam that is why allah subhanahu wa ta’ala created
an entire generation of the sahaba who performed his great service for all time and who are
witnesses before allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to their own truthfulness and dedication
after them came others who were equally dedicated and loved allah subhanahu wa ta’ala and the
people of the quran the early generations
and they dedicated their lives the taba in the tabata
to preserving islam in word meaning and spirit and dedicated their entire lives to collecting
validating and codifying the teachings of rasulullah the key principle in all this
is that it was done by people who were interested in practicing islam not people who want to change
it to suit their own whims and fancies and there lies the reason for this corruption of mind and
spirit which finds nothing contradictory in making the false claim that only the words of the quran
were preserved not their meaning or explanation or instructions or how the orders are to be carried
out people who deny the hadith of the quran and the hadith of the quran are not the ones who are
curios about this and i will surely present several of the
hastigas which you are heard on their ownинг in the quran про questo

culture or nationality we might belong to. This is the togetherness and the cohesion of the Ummah
of Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, which makes us one with those who Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
called as sabiqoon al-awwaloon, the first of the first, and promised Jannah to them and to those
who follow them in excellence until the day of judgment is established. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
said, wa sabiqoon al-awwaloon minal muhajireena walansari wal-ladheena taba’oom bi-ihsan
radiallahu anhum wa radu anhu wa a’adda lahum jannatin tajree tahtaha lanharu khalidina fiha abada
dhalikal fawzu al-azim. Allah said, which means, and the first to embrace Islam of the muhajirun
and the ansar, and also those who followed them exactly.
In faith, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala in his infinite mercy kept that door open until the day of judgment
for anyone who wants to follow the Sahaba, not for anyone who wants to follow his Sheikh
or to follow his culture or to follow Saudi Arabia or to follow something else.
No, people who want to follow the Sahaba, as-sabiqoon al-awwaloon minal muhajireena wal-ansari.
Right, we have this argument every time. When shall we have Eid?
We are following Saudi. Find that for me in the Quran. Find that for me in the Hadith.
That you are supposed to follow Saudi. I’m giving you the dalil, and that’s the ayah where Allah is saying,
follow the Sahaba, as-sabiqoon al-awwaloon. See what they did.
This religion came to be practiced.
So Allah is saying, people who do that, who practice in excellence, Allah is pleased with them.
And they are pleased with Allah.
RadhiAllahu anhu wa radhman.
And He has prepared for them gardens under which rivers flow to dwell therein forever.
And that is supreme success.
I ask Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to include us among them.
My brothers and sisters, this choice to follow the Rasool alaihi salatu was salam and the Sahaba must be made today.
Must be made now.
And this choice to follow the Rasool alaihi salatu was salam and the Sahaba must be made today. Must be made now.
Not tomorrow, not day after, not after we die.
Because when we die, that is when the time for accounting starts.
There’s no time for it. There’s no opportunity to choose.
The opportunity to choose is here.
Therefore adab is the first step.
Respect for the Rasool alaihi salatu was salam is the first step.
Adab is the first step in knowledge, as well as in reaching Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala told us how to address the Messenger salallahu alaihi salam.
And how to behave with him.
And what would happen if we did not do that.
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala said in Surah Al-Hujurat, the first two ayat.
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanu laa tuqaddimu bayna yadeeillahi warasoolihi wa attaqool laah inna allaha sami’un alim.
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanu laa tarfa’u waswatakum fawqa sawti al-nabiyy.
Ya tajharu lahu bilqawli kajahri ba’dikum li ba’d an tahbata a’malukum wa antum laa tash’uroon.
See this ayah, how hard this ayah is.
How tough this ayah is.
Allah says, O you who believe, do not put yourself forward before Allah and His Messenger.
Do not take a step before Allah and His Messenger.
And fear Allah.
Verily Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is all-hearing, all-knowing.
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is all-hearing, all-knowing.
O you who believe, do not raise your voices over the voice of the Messenger
and do not speak aloud to him in the way that you speak to one another.
And if you do that, what will happen?
Your deeds will be wiped out, will be rendered fruitless and you will not even know.
Tahbata a’malukum wa antum laa tash’uroon.
You raise your voice over the voice of the Nabi alaihi salam.
All your Hajj, all your Umrah, all your charity, all your Salah, all your fasting, all everything will go to zero.
You meet Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, you will have nothing.
Now you might say, well, what is the meaning of stepping before Allah and His Rasool
and raising our voice over the voice of the Rasool in today’s time because Nabi is not here.
In today’s time, raising your voice above the voice of the Rasool is not enough.
Raising your voice above the voice of the Rasool is equal to and that would constitute expressing an opinion,
counter to his opinion or to treat his Sunnah with disdain and disrespect as if it were unimportant.
Rasool’s jurisdiction extends to the end of time.
What he commanded does not end with the passage of time.
Claiming that this is a new age and therefore what he said is not valid is kufr.
If you say that and believe that, you have left Islam.
The safe position is to follow the Sunnah as much as you can and remain silent about what you can’t follow or you find difficult to do.
But to say this is not important, times have changed, this has happened, that has happened, how can we say?
No. Please.
Do not make comments about the Ahkam of Rasool about the orders and commands and the ways and the Sunnah of Rasool .
Do not comment about that.
Do not criticize it because what Allah approved, you and I are no one to criticize.
And if we criticize, we are out of Islam.
Nobody at any time, not now, not 500 years ago,
Nobody at any time, not now, not 500 years ago,
Not 500 years ago, not 5000 years from now.
Nobody can ever possibly come up with a way that is better than the way of the Prophet Muhammad
for the simple reason that he is directly guided by Allah.
And whoever else is coming up with whatever else method is not a Nabi, is not a Rasool, is not guided by Allah.
Whoever it is.
This is our Aqeedah and this is Islam.
If you believe anything contrary to this, then there is a major facade with your Aqeedah.
So please understand this, we ask Allah to help us to behave with the utmost respect with regard to the Rasool
and not to say things which will end up with us facing the hellfire when we go before Allah.
Allah told us also how to behave.
Also how to behave in the house of Rasool .
Allah said,
Arabic
Arabic
Arabic
Allah said,
Do you believe?
Do not enter the Prophet’s houses except when leave permission is given to you or you are invited for a meal.
And then don’t go so early that you are waiting for the preparation of the meal.
But go at the time of the meal and when you are invited enter, when you have taken your meal leave.
Do not sit there and talk.
Verily such behaviour annoys the Prophet .
But he is too polite, he is shy of asking you to go.
But Allah is not shy of telling you the truth.
And when you ask his wives for anything you want, ask them from behind a screen.
That is purer for your hearts and their hearts.
It is not right for you that you should annoy Allah the Messenger ,
nor that you should ever marry his wives after him, after his death.
Verily with Allah that shall be an enormity.
Now think about this.
Allah made it a condition of Iman.
That these things were,
how to go to his house, how to come.
It also tells you what kind of a person the Prophet was.
People wanted to be in his company 24×7.
They loved him so much, they wanted to be with him so much,
that Allah has revealed in the Quran saying,
leave him, give him space.
He needs private time.
He needs time for his family.
You can’t be sitting there the whole time.
Right?
He invites you for dinner, you go at breakfast time.
And you’re waiting for that dinner.
No.
When he invites you for a time meal, go at that time and then leave.
Don’t sit there and talk about the whole world.
No.
People, I mean, they want to be with him, Salahus-Salam.
So, you know, they ask question after question.
They will say this, they will say that.
So it also tells, see, this is the beauty of this religion.
Allah SWT in different ways has told us about things which are
so day to day, things which are so common to all of us.
These are things to practice, no matter where you are, what you are.
Even though the, now we are not going to the house of Isa Salam,
but even if you go to somebody’s house, someone invites you,
go at the time, after you eat, leave.
Don’t sit there for another two hours.
Right?
The host will not say, how will the host tell you to go?
But it’s a problem for him.
It’s a problem for him, for his family, and so on and so forth.
Right?
So politeness and being kind and being neighborly, all of these are part of Islam.
Now Allah SWT then made, he made it a condition of Iman, condition of faith,
that one should not make fun of Rasul or his Sunnah.
Joking in the case of Allah and his Messenger is highly dangerous,
because if you joke and you believe that joke, then it renders you out of Islam.
Right?
This is a very serious matter in Islam.
Joking about any of the Messengers, any of the Prophets.
Right?
May Allah have mercy, there are so many, what they call Jesus and Moses jokes.
Not with Muslims, please understand.
Isa Jesus is a Messenger of Allah.
We honor him, we respect him.
Musa , Moses is a Messenger of Allah.
We honor him and respect him.
We don’t make jokes.
No matter if anybody else is making jokes, don’t join with them.
This is not from Islam.
In Islam we honor and respect all the Prophets.
And with Nabi , we do that as well.
No jokes about the Prophet .
Now Allah SWT did this because the Prophet came to change the whole way of life.
It came to change and it brought a new standard of life for the people.
And that cannot be possible.
You cannot bring about such fundamental change if people are making fun of that standard.
Or of that standard bearer who brings that standard.
Seriousness of belief is expressed by showing respect for the Messenger and the Message.
And not to do so is disbelief.
Allah SWT said,
Allah said, if you ask them, they’re sitting there, they’re chatting, they’re joking.
And if you ask them about that, they say, we were only talking idly.
We were only joking.
And say to them, was it Allah and His ayat, His signs, His promises, His revelation,
and His Messenger that you were mocking?
Make no excuse.
You have disbelieved.
After you had believed.
You were believers and because of this, you have left Islam.
You have become kufar.
This is not some fatwa from some mufti.
This is Allah Himself.
And then Allah said, maybe we will pardon some of you, but we will punish others because you
and they are مُجْرِمِينَ
You are criminals.
Allah promised to punish those who criticize Him and His Messenger .
Allah says,
Allah said, verily those who annoy Allah and His Messenger, by annoying means criticizing,
making fun, joking.
And all that kind of stuff.
Verily those who annoy Allah and His Messenger, Allah has cursed them in this world and in
the hereafter and has prepared for them a humiliating torment.
So what must we do?
Allah told us that also.
He told us to leave the company of those who say these things.
And Allah said, if you don’t leave the company, then you are with them, even though you may
not have said anything.
Please understand.
Because there are in today’s world, there are people who sit around and pontificate
and then they say, oh, this means that, that means this, and times have changed and this
and that law was for those days.
And if you want to follow the Sunnah so much, go ride a camel.
There are two things to do.
Keep your mouth shut and let the world think you are a fool.
Or open your mouth and prove it.
That applies to a lot of people who talk about this stuff.
They have zero knowledge, no adab, and they want to pontificate about the Kitab of Allah
and the Sunnah of Muhammad .
The fundamental principle in Islam is no matter which issue, no matter what istihad, and istihad
is not something for everyone to do.
To make istihad, you have to be a mujtahid.
Okay?
Every istihad, every conceptualization ends with the text.
There is no khiyas in the presence of the nas.
When you come to a text, when you come to an ayat of the Quran, or you come to a sahih hadith
of the Prophet , no more khiyas after that.
No more explanations after that.
No more interpretations after that.
You follow the Kitab and you follow the Sunnah.
This is being a Muslim.
This is what it means.
Now Allah is saying, what happens if you are sitting in such gatherings where this kind
of talk is happening and what you should do.
So Allah said,
Quran ad diabetes

When you hear the ayat of Allah being denied and mocked at,
then do not sit with them.
Do not sit with them until they change the topic and they talk something else.
And if you stay with them, then you are like them.
So what happens to somebody who is mocking Allah and His Prophet?
They have left Islam.
And if you sit in that gathering, you are with them.
And Allah says, surely Allah will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers altogether in Jahannam.
I ask Allah to save us from ourselves.
I ask Allah to help us to do that which will benefit us in this world and the next.
I ask Allah to help us to remember that we are not going to live forever.
That a time will come when we will die and we will go before Allah.
And then we will be questioned.
I ask Allah to guide us and help us to live a life which is according to His commands,
followed in the way of Muhammad.
Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
