Zabiha Halal, what’s that?
Zabiha is the process by which the meat of an animal or bird which is permissible to eat, becomes Halal. “Non-Zabiha Halal” is an oxymoronic term. There’s no such thing. If it is not Zabiha it is dead meat and it is Haraam. Zabiha happens when I Muslim slaughters an animal or bird that’s permitted to eat, by cutting its throat including the carotid arteries and jugular vein and esophagus using a sharp knife, in one continuous stroke saying, “Bismillahi Allahu Akbar.” Anything else is Haraam. Stabbing the animal in the heart to drain the blood is Haraam. Machine slaughter is Haraam. No matter how many Halal stamps it carries. Rasoolullahﷺ told us that when you eat Haraam your Ibaadah and dua is not accepted and the body that’s nourished by eating even one morsel of Haraam will burn in the Hellfire. It truly is that serious. If you think that’s hard, remember vegans who don’t eat meat or any animal product. Or Hindu Brahmins who don’t eat any meat lifelong. As a Muslim, ask yourself why you can’t take the trouble to eat Halal to please Allahﷻ when you know that the rule is made for our benefit.
إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ بِهِۦ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَلَآ إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Baqara 2: 173 He has forbidden you only the Maytatah (dead animals), and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that which is slaughtered as a scrifice for others than Allah (or has been slaughtered for idols, etc., on which Allah’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering). But if one is forced by necessity without wilful disobedience nor transgressing due limits, then there is no sin on him. Truly, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
