I will tell you since you are young boys, I’ll tell you a story about another young boy.
And about this young boy, the story refers to these days that we are going through.
This young boy was his father. He didn’t meet his father.
His father left him in a particular place just after he was born.
And after that, the father came back when he was maybe 10 years old or something like that.
And the father was in his 90s.
And the father took him for a walk.
And as they are walking, the father says to him,
I have seen in my dream that I am slaughtering you for Allah.
He said,
O daughter, do what you are commanded to do.
You will find me, if Allah wills, of those who are patient.
Allah says that Ibrahim, when Ismail was old enough to walk with him,
his father said to him,
I have seen in my dream that I am slaughtering you.
Look, what do you see?
And his son says,
O my father, do as you have been commanded.
And inshallah, you will find me among those who are patient.
Right?
So the father, he hasn’t seen the father.
He hasn’t seen the father for his whole life, effectively.
And the first time he sees his father, this is the conversation.
The father says,
I have seen in my dream that I am slaughtering you for the sake of Allah.
And then his father asks him a very strange question.
He says to him,
He said, you look, what do you see?
Right?
Right?
Right?
Right?
Right?
Right?
Right?

Right?
He says, you look, what do you see?
And the answer of the boy,
the amazing thing, first of all,
if somebody asks you a question,
look, what do you see?
What is the automatic response to that?
What will you say?
So look where?
If I say look, look where?
In my pocket?
Behind me?
Outside?
The boy does not ask.
Because he knows what his father is talking about.
Imagine somebody who is raised in such a way that such a question does not confuse him,
it does not perplex him, it does not get, what’s wrong with my dad?
He says, do as you have been commanded.
Do as you have been commanded.
And you will find me, insha’Allah, among the people who have sabr.
You know the name of the boy?
Yes.
Is this Ibrahim’s son?
Ibrahim’s son?
Yes.
What was his name?
Ismail .
Ibrahim’s son, Ismail .
And that was a good recovery, insha’Allah.
The point I’m making is that, think about it from another angle.
He was a boy.
He was a boy like you.
He was a boy like you.
He was a boy like you.
What makes them special?
He was a boy like you.
He was the product of a single parent.
Today we talk about a single parent.
There was no father.
From the time he was born to the time of this conversation, there was no father involved.
Ibrahim was not there.
He was raised by his mother alone, Hajar .
Single parent.
How did she raise him in such a way that, number one, when he sees his father, he respects
his father, he has regard for his father, right?
And number two, he’s already connected with Allah to such an extent that when his father
asks him this question, which, if you look at the question, it’s a very strange question.
He knows what he’s talking about.
And then he gives him such a beautiful answer.
He does not say, you will find me among the sabirin.
He says, inshaAllah.
He says, inshaAllah.
If Allah wills.
Because he’s talking about slaughter, you can’t say, well, you know, I’ve done this
before, I know I can bear the pain.
No.
He doesn’t know.
What does it mean to be saying, I will slaughter you?
What slaughter?
He doesn’t know.
He doesn’t know.
He doesn’t know.
He doesn’t know.
He doesn’t know.
He doesn’t know.
He doesn’t know.
He doesn’t know.
InshaAllah.
It also shows us how, both for Ibrahim and Ismail, the number one important thing, the
overwhelming thing, was the will of Allah.
Ibrahim never asked Allah , why should I slaughter my son?
What would I…
After all, you gave me a son.
After so many decades of making dua, now I had the little boy.
Now you want me to slaughter him?
What is this?
Slaughtering is his wattéh.
What’s his wattéth?
Don’t ask, don’t ask.
son yes I’m ready for the son he didn’t say how come you know first time I’m
seeing you now you’re telling me what kind of thing is this what did I do you
saw the dream go slaughter somebody else no do as you have been come up if I’ll
my Atuma said I did only inshallah who you know somebody do as you have been
commanded to my father and inshallah you will find me among the people who have
suburb so for both the father and the son obedience to Allah sultana who
teller is the number one priority no right if Allah said I will do class no
arguments no waiting for time though let me think about this yellow you gave me
this very difficult command so give me some time you know let me think about it
no straight away
straight away and see what is the result of that the result of that was that not
only did Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala caused this story to last through the
centuries with your I’m a this era I’m you’re talking about the time period or
what is called the Bronze Age right the Bronze Age which is roughly about four
thousand five hundred years ago for four thousand five hundred years people have
been taking the name of Ibrahim and Ibrahim as the name of the Bronze Age and Ibrahim as the name of Ibrahim and Ibrahim, Ibrahim as the name of Ibrahim as the name of Ibrahim.
Ibrahim alayhi salam.
We don’t just say Ibrahim is Ibrahim alayhi salam.
We don’t say Ismail is Ismail alayhi salam.
You name your children Ibrahim and Ismail
for the barakah of the name.
Not only that,
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
caused that whole story.
What I told you is one piece of the story.
Allah caused this whole story
to become the rituals of
the Manasikahaj.
The rituals of Hajj.
Of the Ibada.
So when we go and slaughter the sheep,
and then also Allah shows us,
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala does not
order anyone to kill babies.
That was only a test.
And when he said yes,
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala sent a vamp
to be slaughtered in his place.
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
could have allowed him to be slaughtered
and could have brought him back to life
if Allah wanted. No.
It did not happen.
No harm will come to the person
who is obedient to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
did not allow him to be harmed.
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala sent a ram in his place.
Jibreel Islam came with the ram.
And that is what we will do,
inshallah, on the day of
Eid al-Adha.
We will go and we will sacrifice the sheep.
When you are doing that, think about that.
You are not just going and killing a sheep.
You are doing this in obedience
to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala’s command.
And in obedience to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala’s command.
And in keeping with the sunnah
of Ibrahim alayhi salam
who obeyed Allah and as a result of that
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala made this happen.
Obedience. That obedience got him
so much regard
that it became, can you imagine,
not just stories.
The reward of this ibadah is what?
Complete free from sin.
You just heard the
lecture on Hajj, right?
So somebody, Hajj Baburur,
the Hajj which has been accepted,
what is the reward?
Total freedom from sin.
So let us think about that.
Let us make sure that we
become obedient to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
any time.
What is the one command of Allah
which comes to us every single day?
What is the command?
Five times.
Salah.
Salah.
So make sure that you never miss your Salah.
No matter where you are, what you are,
who you are with, your friend,
your school, your college, wherever.
Never miss your Salah.
Salah must be prayed.
On its time.
Salah at its time is the highest form of ibadah.
It’s the best form of ibadah.
Inshallah.
And then wherever possible,
come pray in the masjid,
pray in the jamaah,
this masjid,
it doesn’t matter which of the masjid.
Try to pray with the jamaah.
But even if you cannot,
suppose you are somewhere,
there is no masjid anywhere,
pray where you are,
but make sure you do not miss your Salah.
Inshallah.
Right?
We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
to make us obedient,
to keep us obedient,
to keep us steadfast,
to give us sabr,
to make us people who
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala
will love and who,
we will look forward to meeting
with Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
Wa sallallahu ala nabiyyul kareem
wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ajma’in
bi rahmatika.
A’hamdulillah.
