In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to God, Lord of the worlds. And peace and blessings be upon the Prophet and the Messengers, Muhammad, the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and upon his family and companions, and upon many, many. From now on, today, inshaAllah, we’ll talk about a few things together, which are, they may look small, but they’re important. One is the blessing of the Adhan. The Prophet said, the meaning of which is, he said, when you hear the Adhan, then repeat the words of the Adhan after the Muazzin. So he says, Allahu Akbar, you say Allahu Akbar, he says, I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, and then when he says, You say, And then, he says, You repeat after him. And after that, the Prophet said, Send Salat and Salam on me, ﷺ which is, So recite, after repeating the words of the Adhan, and then make the Dua of Adhan. Allahumma Rabbahu Azizawati Thamma, Wa Salatil Qaima, Aati Muhammadanil Wasilata Wal Fadila, Wa Basu Maqamim Mahmooda, Alladhi Wa Adta. This is the Dua of the Adhan. Innaka La Tukhliful Miyad, People add, this is not part of the Dua of the Adhan. Wa Adta is where it finishes. And then, Say, Then say, Say this three times. Raditubillahi Rabbah, wa bi-Islami Deena, wa bi-Muhammadin Salallahu عليه السلام, Nabiya wa Rasuluh. Raditubillahi Rabbah, wa bi-Islami Deena, was Salah wa Rasuluh. Say this three times and then he said, whatever dua you make, Allah will accept. So then you make your own dua.
Then you make whatever dua you want to make, Allah will accept.
My reminder to myself and you is that, Alhamdulillah, Allah created this whole life and He gave us this deen so that we have tranquility and we have contentment and we have sukoon in our lives. There is no need to hurry in everything. Rushing, rushing, rushing, rushing. Just give adhan and run away. No. Sukoon. The Muslim will give the adhan, Alhamdulillah. I’m talking about the people listening to the adhan. This is what you should do. Repeat after the adhan. The words of the Maudhin.
Then send salat and salam on Rasulullah, ﷺ the Duru Sharif. Then the dua and the adhan. Then the kalamah tayyaba. Then raditubillahi Rabbah. And after that make dua and Allah will accept. This is the time for acceptance of dua. You want to run and do what?
So this is the first thing that I want to remind myself and you. Let us practice these things. The idea of learning. The adhan. These things is to practice, inshaAllah. We ask Allah for reward for that, inshaAllah. Second thing is, when you come to the masjid, the people in the masjid, there is a role for everyone. The role of the Imam is to lead salah and to lead whatever is happening. That’s why he’s called the Imam. Right? He’s called the Imam. He’s called the Imam for a reason. Because he is the Imam. He is the master. He is the leader.
So let the Imam lead.
You have many places, Muktadien, as soon as whatever time has been set for the salah. And remember, in most masajids, the time set for the salah is actually not the time for for the Salah. The time for the Salah began long back. Time for the Salah began whenever it began. This time which you set is your time. According to your convenience, you are setting some time. Alhamdulillah. The Hadith of the Prophet is very clear. He said, they asked him, what is, the Sahabi asked him, Ya Rasulullah, which is the best deed? He said, Salah ala waqtihah. He said, Salah at its time. He did not say Salah at the time you set. So, first of all, understand this. He said, Salah at its time, which means as soon as the time for Salah begins, you pray. Right? The only difference is that when the time for Salah begins, then you call the Adhan, then you, if there is some Sunnah, you pray Sunnah before that, then you pray. This is the best deed, the best action. But in most masajis in the world, you set a particular time, which is convenient for most of the Musalli. So, for example, we pray here Zohar at 1 o’clock. Time for Zohar starts at 12 o’clock, probably, one hour before. So, technically speaking, we should pray Zohar at that time, not at 1 o’clock. But we pray at 1 o’clock because that is convenient for most of the people, the major number of people come at 1 o’clock. Alhamdulillah, this is not prohibited. This is not prohibited. This is public, we do it. But you find the minute the clock comes to the, you know, the number is 1 or for Fajr we pray at 5.15. So, exactly the minute comes, people will come and stand, the Musallin will come and stand here in the Saf and they will act impatient and they will say, come start this, that and the Imam is not on the Musallin because the Imam maybe is… finishing his Salah or he is doing whatever he is doing. The Adab of the Masjid, the Adab of the Masjid is you sit in your place and you remain in your place and you remain silent until the Imam comes to the Musalla and the Imam says, Akibu Salah, let Salah be established. Then the Musallin, the person who called the Adhan, it is his Haqq to call the Ikhama. Unless he gives the Adhan, he is not allowed to do it. So, the Imam says, Akibu Salah, let Salah be established. Whoever gives the right to somebody else, it is not anybody else’s job to call the Ikhama or to call anyone to the… That’s not your job. The job to call the people to Salah is the job of the Musallin. Whoever gives the Adhan, it is his job to call the Ikhama. He will call the Ikhama, not when he feels like it, but when the Imam tells him. The Imam will say, Akibu Salah, then he must stand up and he must call the Ikhama and then we start the Salah. We are Ibadullah. We are not Ibadullah. We are not slaves of the clock. We are slaves of Allah . So what if the clock went to 5.15? So what if it went to 1 o’clock? You set the time.
What is the sanctity of the… if the needle of the clock from 5.15 goes to 16, what happens? Will the sky fall on our head? What is the hurry? Have Sukoon, Alhamdulillah. The Masjid is the place of Sukoon. It is the place of the Nuzul of the Malaika. We have a Sukoon. No need to hurry. I am not saying the Imam should delay. Whatever he is, he is a human being. If there is a little bit of delay, Rasool Allah said, the time that you are waiting for the Salah to start is considered to be as if you are in Salah. So what is the problem? Aapko Samaab to milrah hai na.
Enjoy karo. Kya problem?
Similarly, after the Salah is finished, there are Adhkar that Rasool Allah did and these are Mu’akkad Adhkar. These are Adhkar which he always did. He did not miss these Adhkar. After the Salah finished, after Salah, he would say Astaghfirullah three times. He did not say Allahu Akbar and then Astaghfirullah. Please understand these things. There are a lot of people who say Allahu Akbar. Then they say, where is the Allahu Akbar? There is no Allahu Akbar. There is Astaghfirullah, Astaghfirullah, Astaghfirullah. Three types. Please understand that when we are emulating the Nabi , this is the best and the most beautiful thing we can do. The emulation is to do what he did, as he did. Not add something to it. and subtract something from it because you feel like it. No. Right? He did not say Allah Akbar, you don’t say Allah Akbar. You say Astaghfirullah, Astaghfirullah, Astaghfirullah three times. Then he would recite Ayatul Kursi because he said that the one who recites Ayatul Kursi after first Salah, the only thing that is stopping him from going into Jannah is his life. He is just waiting for his death. As soon as he dies, inshaAllah, Allah will give him Jannah. We ask Allah to make us among those. So Ayatul Kursi immediately after. The Ulama have said that recite Ayatul Kursi in Salah before you say Salam. So in Tashahud after Tahiyyat and Duruud Ibrahimi and Duas and so on, then recite Ayatul Kursi and then say Salam. And then after that, say Astaghfirullah three times and then Ayatul Kursi again. So the Hadith which said after Salah, whether Nabi meant after meaning after the Adhkar of the Tashahud are over then or after that, whatever it means, both are covered. So Ayatul Kursi. Then he would recite Tasbe Fatimee SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, 33, 33, 34 and then say, Astaghfirullah, Astaghfirullah, Allahu Akbar, 33, 33, 34 and then say, Astaghfirullah, Astaghfirullah, Astaghfirullah, Allahu Akbar, 33, 34 and then he would say, La Ilaha Illa Allahu Wahdahu La Sharika Lahu, Lahu Al-Mulkul, Lahu Al-Hamdu, Wahwa Alaa Kulli Shayin Qadir. Right? Minimum at least this much we must do.
Then you make Dua, ideally speaking, individual Dua silently by yourself. If there is a reason, an occasion, the Imam can make Dua loudly, you can say, I mean, no problem. But that should not become a habit after every first Salah. Rasool Allah did not do loud Dua after every first Salah. He did not do it. Please don’t do it. If you are doing it, you are creating your own thing in the Deen which is wrong. Right? Occasionally, when there is a reason, for somebody asked him or something happened, he would make Dua, Alhamdulillah, no problem with this. But loud Dua after first Salah, loud Dua after Juma, after Salah, after Salah, after Salah, as a routine, this is wrong. This is wrong. This should not be done. Dua is individual. It is between the slave and Allah . Make your own Dua after this. If you are like this Khatira or anything else, all of this must start after we have completed our Asghar. Don’t be in a hurry to say, no, no. If I don’t start now, I will not be able to do it. If I don’t start speaking now, people will go away. Let them go.
Let them go. Whoever Allah wants to keep there, to listen to whatever is happening, that is a Fadl min Allahi Ta’ala. Whoever Allah wants to bless, Allah will keep him. Whoever has his own reason to go and don’t say that the one who left has no blessing, we don’t know. Maybe he has got better blessing. Maybe he is going to make Tawaf of the Kaaba. Who knows? Right? That’s not your job. To say that the one who stayed is better. Your job is to do your job and your job is finish your Asghar and after you finish your Asghar then make Dua. If you are doing some Khatira, whatever, do whatever it is. But do not hurry and don’t be in a rush because if we don’t even have Sukoon in the house of Allah at the time of Salah, I mean, what kind of life is this? There is no Sukoon. In the mosque, there is no Salah. If there is no peace at the time of Salah, then where will there be peace? Really, crazy. So let us not get into this kind of stupid life. Have Sukoon. When you come here, Alhamdulillah, you are in the house of Allah, the place of the Nuzul of Malaika. Every second you spend here is InshaAllah, if you come with the intention of praying and that’s why in the mosque to talk about worldly affairs and so on, this is highly
reprehensible and must never be done. Don’t know. Don’t talk about this and that and this deal and that and nothing. In the mosque, there is the house of Allah, talk about Allah. Talk about the glory of Allah . First of all, no need to talk. You come here to worship Allah, worship Allah. If you need to talk, talk something which is good, something which is to do with the glory of Allah and Alhamdulillah, then go peacefully. Once you go outside, then you can do whatever you like. I mean, again, something which is permitted. Whatever you like doesn’t mean do wrong thing. But the point I’m making is let us make the best of this. Alhamdulillah, Allah Ta’ala gave us the tawfiq to get up in the morning, leave our sleep, come all the way to the masjid. May Allah bless you. Some of you come from a distance. You come all the way. Don’t allow shaitan to take away the benefit of that. Yeah. Shaitan deceives in two ways. One is he will directly make you disobey Allah. For example, don’t go to the masjid. Or for example, leave salah. Now Alhamdulillah, shaitan knows he can’t do that with you. If he says leave salah, you will not leave salah. So what does he do? He will try to make you do something which reduces the value of the Ibadah. So for example, he will say don’t go to the masjid, pray at home, it’s okay. Salah. So you can’t do it. Namaz is not done.
So namaz is done. But satya is a sin for a person. So when you go to the masjid, you are getting 27 times the reward. You pray at home, you are getting one time. So he will make you do that. Or when you come to the masjid, he will make you do different kinds of things or not do what you should do so that the benefit of coming to the masjid is detracted. It will not go away, but you know it is reduced. So let us not do that. Let us take full advantage of this. Full man. So maximum benefit of coming to the masjid and benefiting from this. As I mentioned earlier also, Nabi said the time that you spend in the masjid, in salah, waiting for salah or after salah, just being in the masjid, making zikr, reflection, introspection, whatever you do, all of this is considered as not only Ibadah, as being in salah. Okay. So Alhamdulillah. Like for example, now we sit until the time for Ishtaaq. This whole time, apart from the benefit of the Ishtaaq, the salah, the reward for Hajj and all that, apart from that, this whole time that we are sitting here in the masjid, in zikr, this whole time is considered as being in salah.
Itty-lamina was to nahi padte. But uska sahab mil rahe apne. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah. We ask Allah to help us to maximize the benefit of coming to the masjid. We ask Allah to enable us to behave in the masjid according to the haqq of the masjid, according to the aadab of the masjid and to get the maximum benefit from coming to the masjid for our salah. Wa sallallahu ala nabeel karim wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ajma’in bi rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
